Just dived into this this weekend. Liking it so far. It has a Tomb Raider feel to me, just bigger.
For those who have played for a while, do you always feel that you are under attack or does moving between places get easier?

Feels like I get attacked more as I got further into it

I'm using the purple stealth armor with 3 purple stealth mods. I'm basically invisible now. About 15 hours of play to gather the stuff needed for the armor.

It gets easier. Once you get better armor and mod it with stealth, you can sneak right by most of the annoying ones (Watchers) or you can just call your mount and gallop right past a whole herd.
The Shadow weapons/outfits will be enough for the end game. You get better weapons if you get the highest rank in all the hunting missions. If you find all the power cells for the armor located in the ruin in Nora, you're basically invincible. I stood toe-to-toe with a Behemoth and killed it by melee without taking any damage

I have one power cell from very early in the game, wheee do you find a second?

I found one going back to the original cave and I think another in the heart of the mountain.

There's 5 in all; 2 for the door and 3 to unlock the apparatus that is holding the armor itself.
First two power cells are as Scruffy indicated. The other 3 are part of main missions: Maker's End, Grave Hoard, and GAIA Prime. Two of them are basically right in your normal path, you can't miss them as they lay on the ground literally at your feet. But the one for GAIA Prime is off the beaten path. Spoiler below:
During the mission, you'll rappel down at one point. When you do, instead of following the main path, turn left and climb up. You'll find a cave with blue light in it. The cell will be in there.

PSA: Corruption arrows with purple corruption mods can make huge herds of beasts devour themselves..leaving one left and almost dead...very satisfying

I spend so much time just doing nothing in this game. Fought and took down my first Thunderjaw last night.

How many point of no returns are there? I've read two, but what is the significance of the first one, assuming there is two?

Havent made it to the Thunderjaw yet. I did kill a Stalker the other day...invisible bastard.

The first "PONT" is really just a long mission with a ton of exposition pieces (those audio and video logs). The other is the no kidding last story mission.

I've been just working my way across the map while picking up coffee cups, metal flowers, and other junk.
Any advice on killing Firebellows? Fought my first one in the 1st cauldron and got slaughtered once. On the next attempt, I placed traps everywhere.
Got the kill, but I know I can't do that every time. Playing on Very Hard.

Freeze them with 2-3 notched arrows or the freeze sling shot and once frozen they take tons of damage with arrows that have damage as the main stat (hunter, hardtop, precision)

Yup. I'm set up with the shadow stealth armor with stealth mods and high level elemental weapons mods with the tinker ability. Sneak up, drop a rain of corruption arrows on the group until one's left, then swap in the proper damage modifiers on the proper bow for what it's weak to and rain pointy death down upon it.
