Well they’re starting to reduce the difficulty of some enemies and bosses: IGN

-Slight difficulty reduction in early game bosses Moorwing and Sister Splinter.

-Reduction in damage from Sandcarvers.

-Slight increase in pea pod collider scale.

-Slight reduction in mid-game Bellway and Bell Bench prices.

-Slight increase in rosary rewards from relics and psalm cylinders.

-Increase in rosary rewards for courier deliveries.

Luckily not too much reduction.

Ha that figures, spent too much time Sunday fighting the moorwing. Finally took him out and got stuck at sister splinter. Finally beat splinter on probably my 40th try yesterday. Thought surely I was gonna be safe for a few minutes, might even get some rewards. Nope, straight into the widow fight.

I hated that boss so much the first time and then it gets a grand hunt that’s pure cancer

Feel bad for the people struggling in the early parts of the game because Act 2 is a big jump in difficulty. High halls arena, frick you.

I beat Hollow Knight back in 2018. I didn’t beat all the boss rush arenas or POP but I beat the base game. Ive already accepted the fact that I might not see the end of this one tho. Might would have already thrown in the towel if I didn’t find a crest that changed the down attack to actually go down instead of diagonal.

Absolute bullshite fight. One of the only arenas that gave me trouble.

Looks like I've completed and collected everything you can possibly can Act 2. Time to face the bosses.

At 26.5h currently. Not gonna make the 100% in 30h mark

Hopefully by the time I get there they will have nerfed the game somewhat. I’m on the road and need a pro controller to take on some of these mother frickers.

This game is awesome. I was backtracking before climbing up the stairs or whatever to the citadel and stumbled into the sinners road or whatever. Awesome...then deep something then bam I'm in zelda's lost woods (the mist).

Made it through that but now I'm thinking of going back to the stairs and blasting into the citadel through the front door.

Again, amazing game.

Keep going that way and surprise yourself. I ended up taking the same route btw.

Can I still go back and fight any bosses I miss? I'm the type that plays and beats these games and rarely go back.

I've found myself breezing through act 2. Once I got my weapons/tools ready to go then things have just been clicking. I still have only struggled with Sister Splinter but the rest has been nice.

That being said....I did just get to high halls arena though so we'll see!

Getting my arse handed to me by the Act 3 final boss (hope its the final one )

I haven’t played the first one in a while but this might be one of the toughest fights in the series. Just a real cheesy fight.

I think that’s the one I’m referring to earlier in the thread of “There’s no way in hell I’m beating that one.”

I had to beat her twice lol. Was in a hurry to get the 30h 100% speedrun trophy so I didn't do the Mr Mushroom quest until after I beat her...only to discover you have to beat her again to pop his trophy

Try the strat I use here, may help. Beat her frickin arse

Some other favorite fights

Tormented Trobbio

Clover Dancers - Needle Only

GM Silk - Cursed with 5 HP (Needle Only, No Heals)

Would you say the final boss is one of the hardest you’ve ever faced?

In this game? Yeah she’s top 3

Ever? No, not even close

Whats interesting about her is she’s very much a “feels” boss. She has 2-3 moves that can transition into one of three follow ups with no tell whatsoever, so fighting her is all about getting a feel for optimal spacing to best deal with any of the follow ups. With most of the bosses, you can learn all the tells over time and know exactly how to react to each. With her, there’s always that variance factor that makes her tough. Make one wrong move and suddenly she’s whacking you into a combo and then you’re dead 5 seconds later

The biggest issue with her from a design standpoint is the visual aspect. You have a black boss on a black foreground with a black background, and all her attacks are black. Very little visual distinction. She’ll have geysers of black tentacles erupting from the ground which keep you from seeing her black tentacles she shoots at you from her arm. Kind of annoying. In addition, her fast teleports are profoundly obnoxious because you just end up dashing into her teleport destination on accident and taking 2 ticks of contact damage
