I just bought Jedi. Could be a bit bumpy. Digital Foundry said that the optimization still sucks on PC. Every review said the game was awesome but the crappy FPS due to terrible optimization kept lots of folks from recommending it.

I haven't played it recently, but there was a patch that game out a handful of months ago that brought it from terrible to decent on PC, at least in my opinion. And it brought DLSS, which was a huge improvement over FSR.

Digital Foundry said it was certainly better but not good and their sources said, that was the last patch. So they were still unhappy with the optimization and a bit salty that there wouldn't be any further attempts to fix it.

They are tech snobs but they are also correct that a 70 games shouldn't be full of low FPS issues. I still think the final verdict was under 60 fps which the hardcore tech folks think anything under 60 in unplayable.

I'm still working my way through a 100% cyberpunk but once I am done, I think I will probably go with Jedi. For me, I think the FPS won't be an issue but if it is, I'll scream a bit on the board.

I certainly understand their position, and I think the performance is going to be a stain on the game that will influence how people respond to any future titles. With that said, it doesn't really make sense to talk about it in the context of a $70 game anymore. It's routinely, and currently, on sale for 50% off. And with all its flaws, I think it's easily worth $35.

ETA: I know I said it on another thread, but I'll repeat it again here: for whatever reason, this game hates being CPU bound. Turns into a stuttery mess no matter how good your CPU is. So if anyone is dealing with stuttering issues I would highly suggest, a bit paradoxically, that people set their graphics settings higher, and DLSS/FSR either off or on high enough quality settings, to ensure that you stay GPU bound most of the time. Because believe me, as soon as you turn CPU bound (like inside the main hub building), you're going to feel it, and it sucks.
