Good to hear!

Have you tried the Punisher as your Primary? I'm seeing some people say it's a nice alternative to the Breaker now.

ETA: Just tried the Punisher. Not too bad. I like its ability to stagger enemies and it seems to have good damage. Reload is a little slow, but not terrible.

I played with the arc thrower today as an alternative and it's pretty fun. It ignores armor and has unlimited ammo, but its a bit weak and slow. I was able to use it to defeat chargers, but it took a while and I had to keep swapping for my primary weapon to kill smol bugs.

I am still running the breaker and think it's still not too bad. I had a bad habit of reloading early anyway so the loss of ammo isn't too bad on me the recoil is definitely much bigger though

Was crashing a bunch yesterday on ps5. The worst crashes too where you’re 20mins into the missions cleaning up the side objectives

so after playing a few missions last night i dont think the nerfs are that bad. at least on suicide difficulty.

breaker definitely need to be conservative with ammo, but i always have been. i dont notice a recoil difference at all. i also have never used the breaker in full auto though.

the rail gun in unsafe mode when full charged still seems to function the same on chargers. i didnt really get to test it on a titan too much. i did pop a titans head with one shot after a 500kg bomb, take that for what its worth.

still ran light armor with shield. again, didnt seem to affect my playstyle much. the shield was mostly for insurance and to avoid status affect like knock down for me anyway.

i essentially solo'ed a suicide last night without too much trouble. i did not get the bug where you cant use your primary weapon at all, so that was nice. not sure if they fixed or i got lucky.

There really should be some level gating on these difficulties. It's a real pain in the arse to hop in a game at extreme with people who simply don't have the equipment to meaningfully contribute

i guess the question is, how was the armor rating working prior to the fix.

was everyone essentially at 0 armor? everyone at 100 armor?

i dont think we know that for sure.

If I understand it correctly, the Armor Rating stat was not being applied correctly (if at all). This meant that anyone using armor with higher Stamina Regen and/or higher Speed at the sacrifice of Armor Rating was actually getting those benefits without the extra damage exposure which should come from a weaker Armor Rating.

The go-to was for people to use armor with lower AR and compensate for any actual drop in defensive capability with the Health mod and/or the personal shield generator.

I ran a couple of missions last night with Trench Paramedic gear (AR: 64, Speed: 536, Stamina Regen: 118). A fricking trash mob nearly killed me in 1 or 2 hits.

The Breaker still performed well damage-wise, but that missing Ammo is noticeable.

During a mission on a Terminid world I encountered one of the new environmental engagements. As I neared the ICBM site, the world shook and smoke/dust/steam came up from the ground (almost like a Terminid hole was spawning). My screen went white around the edges (as if I had taken a stim), my speed slowed and the sfx of taking light damage went off (although I took no damage). Scared the shite out of me.

There is a little, but it's in the difficulty setting. You can't get to the next level of difficulty without completing your current one (so they're all one-time gates). I mostly run Trivial just so I can farm credits, medals and common samples without having to bother (as much) with others jumping in and messing up my pace (I like taking my time and sniping as much as possible).

If you've got a few levels on you and some decent options unlocked, it's tough for even a level 1 newb to screw up your mission (and if they do it too much, just don't reinforce them back in until you are about to finish up).

The wife is out of town for the next week or so, I am looking forward to actually being able to teach new players how to accomplish things (can't do it when she's around because she always wants to engage in personal conversation when I have my mic on ).

I know, it's just wild that someone can be at level 5 and tag along to victory. Then you get four of those in a hard game and you're boned.

I had never thought about farming the trivial/easy for warbonds and samples. Going to try that out.

its usually not too bad but man the group last night. they go themselves killed no shite like 10 times in a span of 3 minutes.
i usually dont comment on it but had to tell them to stop dieing like flies. One guy responded that he sorry he was as fancy pants as me with my shield, lol. wound up evacing that solo because they ran out of reinforcements well before i even go to that point.

So are people still running the Breaker as their primary?

Anyone still using the Railgun, or has everyone moved to the Flamethrower?

I tried out the Flamethrower last night and thought it was decent, I just wish I had more ammo for it.

I only use the flamethrower for Chargers, so ammo doesn't usually bother me. I just got to level 20 so might give Railgun a go finally.

It works fairly well. I generally drop either as far away from my objective or from the extraction point as possible (whichever is farthest, but ideally farthest from the extraction so I'm not having to double-back after completing my objective). 9 times out of 10 there's going to be some outpost or beacon within spitting distance from where you deploy when you're that far out.

Check the map as you move to see if you can determine where the next outpost or beacon may be as you make your way to the objective, hit it, then rinse and repeat until you get to the objective. Finish it off then head to extraction.

Running solo like that I can usually get 7-10 common samples, 3-7 warbonds, a couple hundred requisitions, some super credits, finish my mission and be onboard the extraction in 10-12 minutes (sometimes under 10, if points of interest are in a somewhat straight line with my objective).

Except when you find the bunkers that require two people to push the button

I feel like I get a million of those when I solo farm on Trivial.

Is there any trick to finding the optional objectives or is it truly just running around empty parts of the map until you see them? I know about monster nest red spots obviously.

I’ve noticed that they tend to be in the same general area where the blue obj marker is.
