Halo is dead

I get this sentiment and agree, for the most part, the game has not been what it used to be in a LONG time...

Around Nov 2001, the World had changed..I was only a few months out of bootcamp when 9/11 happened and was already in Point Loma in schools so I could make it to the fleet. I dont remember the exact timing but I remember coming back from the Holidays and someone had an Xbox hooked up to the MWR TV in our barracks, it was something most of us had not heard of and if we had heard of it, we certainly couldn't afford one. I grew up with NES/SNES/N64 gameboys, etc. this was ridiculous to me that this bro was playing these games with other people in the room. We each got a turn with those monster controllers, learning how to play. Eventually a few other people got consoles, people came and people went, but LAN parties were ridiculous. I got married, moved into San Diego and didnt really have time for that "life" anymore, i needed to focus on school and getting out.
I made it to my first Ship Dec the next year (missing my daughters birth after taking literally the whole month of November off and she was late, lol). We deployed within days and the first thing MWR did was a raffle. I remember being the new guy and buying however many tickets it was at the time. Big drawing out on deck a few days later and yours truly, won the BIG prize..An Xbox..I was stoked...Hooked it up in berthing and away we went..Need for speed, Hockey, Halo (hooked up via systems to LAN to some other berthings), you name it, it kept us motivated and going through what we initially called Operation Infinite Deployment (she was my first, so i remember it like yesterday)..I remember when the Red vs Blue shite came out and it killed us, it was like they were reading our minds..

So anyway, yeah, Halo is dead in a sense..But i can't wait to go through my friends list the day it re-releases and play like we did 25 years ago

Agree that Ranked needs more maps. I hardly ever get CTF argyle forget its even in there.

Adding 3rd person is kinda weird but whatever.

New guns would be nice. apparently assets are already in the game.

The Haloween season started yesterday. the zombies mode is crazy. extremely fun. The forge people always blow me away with what they can do.

I hope they do smaller haloween then christmas seasons with new season with lots of updates at negining of the year.

People still play halo?? The downslide of the franchise post Halo 2 is something to be studied.

I would love an Unreal Engine "retelling" of Combat Evolved for the 25th(2026). Same story, new gameplay, additional mission, rainbow armor, pronouns, and DEI lectures

Halo 3 was incredible. Reach was decent.

4 and 5 were fricking terrible.

Infinite did some great things, but most of them came 2 years after launch.

4 was all right. People got their panties in a twist because of the kill steaks but it was still a fun game.

Never played 5.

I agree. 4 was fun. Just poor Campaign and execution.IWas a Semi pro in Halo 2. I enjoyed the ranked games. Nice weapons
never played 5 cither. Infinite was decent but not enough content, poor execution and greedy practices
