I was so excited for this... until I read that it would not support multiplayer on Live other than co-op.

Depressing...

Why go through all that trouble for no Live support?

Don't they know all my college friends live in different cities now and we can't system link!!

That's ridiculous. This was an automatic buy for me with matchmaking. I have no desire to replay the campaign with prettier graphics.

I'm in the same boat. I guess with Halo 4 coming out soon Microsoft didnt want to set-up a matchmaking service for such a short period. I was more excited about playing Halo maps than Halo 4.

No matchmaking is a deal breaker for me.

I don't see how you overlook the fact that most of the people who want this to be redone want it simply for the ability to play MP online. That's it. The campaign was a repetitive mess because the end of it was thrown together in time for launch of the xbox. EVERYONE wants online MP. Remember having to use Gamespy Tunnel to play people online, and unless you had host, it was a miserable experience?

This would rake in so much money for them if they would just do the obvious thing. And if they also didn't nerf the mighty pistol that I miss soooooooo much.

I agree with this. I could have sworn that on the video they had on the Xbox dashboard, it mentioned that they were bring back the 7 multiplayer maps that "started it all". Does that mean that since it will only be co-op on Live, that the multi-player maps will be as before...just LAN parties?

Dude. They even confessed that the first part of it was just set up as a demo, and when they realized they had to put an entire game together, they had to rush it out (trying to find a link). I played co-op with a friend, and at one point, all I felt like I was doing was kill a bunch of covenant, go up a ramp, kill more covenant, go up a ramp, rinse, repeat.............I couldn't finish it. Perhaps the end was good, but there was no way I was going to get there. At least not then.

There was nothing more satisfying to me than being on Blood Gulch, sitting on a base, watching a tank survey the area, and then BLAP BLAP BLAP.......tank is silent

True, but I think all the vehicles were extremely weak, but still...that pistol was badass. If there isn't going to truly be an online multi-player, I will likely not get it.

It wasn't really that with the tank. I don't know if they made improvements to the protection of the driver, but since all you saw was their head in CE, dropping them in 3 shots was a snap. Getting a tank was the ultimate goal in controlling that map, but that was a nice way of extinguishing the threat

Yes it was and the other huge maps as well ever since Blood Gulch.
