Has a great story so it's not very hard. The shootouts suck and it doesn't really fit the character arc killing 50 people at once and trying to redeem yourself, but that's just video games for you.

I loved the picking beans quest where I got to make a stew
ETA the part where you plant them and watch them go is super realistic but the quest took a long time because you have to walk through the camp

The long and short of what I've read and from my hour or so playing it: RDR2 nails graphics, story, and setting. Best in video games in a long while. It just sucks playing it.

I'd agree with all of that except for the story being anything special. There is one mission in Rhodes that is absolutely incredible, but the plot is pretty much a single flat note for the rest of the game. The time of outlaws is fading but Dutch has a plan. The plan goes wrong. Arthur bitches but doesn't really do anything of consequence that would alleviate his frustrations. Rinse and repeat.
I realize a lot of people dig the story and disagree with me on this, but even so I would trade a good plot for good gameplay any day of the week.

I don't want to hate it but it makes playing the game unenjoyable. Just all the things it does which keeps you from actually playing the game.

One thing in terms of graphics which bothered me are the character models. On the Pro in Resolution/4K mode the textures look extremely blurry. It looks worse and less sharp in that mode. Very odd.
The environment though is outstanding but maybe still not up there with Horizon Zero Dawn (on PS4).

Bakalar on the beastcast said that the Xbone X was the best platform to play this one, graphics wise. Said it kicked the pro's arse on this.

Yeah I saw some reviews. Its not just performance or the weird resolution. Something is going on with how they render in 4K. IDK if its checkered board, but it throws it all off. Its the worse i've come across in any game so far. For what I noticed it just applies to character models and not the world.
Its almost like they tried taking 2 images and overlapping them but didn't quite line up. It looks similar to doing that, creates a slight 2nd edge to objects. Which then makes them feel blurry.

I played God of War for 4 days straight, and beat it. I played RDR2 for two weeks, and haven't touched it since. God of War is definitely GOTY to me.

The more I play GoW the more I like it, it's no HZD but very good.
