yeah, somehow, i feel like i'm getting "more" when i buy the disc. it's the same price digitally and if buy the game used at gamestop a month or so after release, i can return whether i liked it or beat it before 7 days.

After I paid for the game I told him stop being a moron and trying to add extra insurance without telling anyone. He just put his head down and didn't say anything. I fricking love making dumbasses and liars squirm like that. There's no telling how many people he has screwed over by pulling that little stunt. Which is why he acted shocked when someone finally questioned him on it.

To be fair to the employee, he probably makes minimum wage and will get his arse chewed out by some cooperate blowhard if he doesn't sell you that warranty. He might even lose his job altogether.

Gamestop is awful but don't blame the guys that work there. They know damn well the warranties and all that other crap are useless, they just want to keep their job. At least they want to work.

Sorry, I've worked those kind of jobs before and being shady like that is never excusable.

A lot of games on disc nowadays have very little game data or require patching to function so from a game preservation prospective, they have the same issue as digital unfortunately.

What's really fun is to ask for the warranty on a rare game like ncaa 14 and then come back to get a new disc and watch them squirm.

GameStop absolutely blows. It feels like going to a used car dealership.

Last time is was at our local GameStop 2 things happened that gave me a pretty good excuse not to go in anymore:

1) i was there to find a 360 controller because i had just found my copy of NCAA14 but didnt have a controller. I explain the situation to the sales person and they didnt have any 360 controllers (no big deal, was a shot in the dark any way) but this guy makes a big deal about my copy of the game and tries to talk me in to selling it. "buddy you should sell that while the iron is hot, you know when they start putting it out again you wont get the same price" etc etc. I wasnt going to but just for shits and giggles i asked what they would buy it for...$20. So that kind of irritated me.

2) My son was with me checking out the switch games and ps4 games. He has like 10% hearing in one ear and can be rather loud if he isnt paying attention to what he is doing. After reviewing the game selection he loudly exclaims to me "their game selection here sucks, what a terrible store". The sales guy just stared. Didnt say anything, just stared. Obviously embarrassed, I nodded to my son and said "yep, lets go".

Felt bad for the employee as he was just doing his job but regardless of my sons tact he was right. Our store never has anything worth buying and the used car dealer mentality the employees have to try and use is uncomfortable and annoying.

Ripping on GameStop is low hanging fruit, know why they still exist and use them accordingly.

You’re being kind of a count to a drone who’s doing solely what management likely requires of him or he gets disciplined or fired.

Sorry but I'm not the one being a count for being pissed at someone who is trying to make me pay more for something I didn't ask for.

Maybe your area is just full of shitty people working shitty jobs that hate their lives. The GameStop near me is great, but people here value jobs like those because we’re so rural.
