we had this discussion the other day while playing. We came up with 3 possibilities:

A) none of the heroes are real; they're just actors playing superheroes starring in an in-universe movie.

B) it could be like like Watchmen, where the heroes and villains are real and the public is infatuated with them enough to make movies about their adventures and exploits.

C) it's a meta deal where the loading screens of the movie sets and whatnot are a fun, fake behind-the-scenes look at Epic and how they work. Basically, the loading screens are a meta projection of how Epic puts everything together - there is not an actual movie being made in-universe. the cameras and equipment laying around are set up for Fortnite promotional material.
