I don't know but it seems like forever since they released 13 so like Zelda there's a lot of anticipation leading up to the next installment so even if it's "ok" fans feel like they're playing the GOAT.
I get it, but I think he's a FF 13 apologist so I would take his enthusiasm with a grain of salt

I am a FF fan. My favorite game of all time is FF IX. Doesn't mean I am screaming GOAT after half a day.

For anyone who has played so far with a disk - not digital download - is there a large update required?
I'm stranded at my parents for a few days due to renovations and their internet is buns so I just want to stiffle my expectations if I'm gonna have to wait hours to actually play

I actually can't decide between 10 & 6
all I'm saying is I can relate to a long period of anticipation and a complete overreaction following it (sometimes the overreaction is negative)
It just happens with franchises like these that don't release often and have an enthusiastic fan base.
I just get it. But again, saying FF 13 is underrated disqualifies your opinion about any game in said franchise

Disk install on my PS4 took about 10 minutes. The download is going on now and it's a 9.41 GB patch, so it depends on the speed of your parents internet.

Ps4.. I'm doing more side quests than story but when the story comes up it's so satisfying

I'm a FF fan from NES days. I've been literally waiting on this for 10 years.
IMO square listened to fans this time and it certainly shows.
The opening title screen almost made me tear up. It is the perfect way to open this game. It madw me laugh. It's such a special moment with the song playing and what's going on. When the FFXV titles hit it just got me in that special place.

Ff13 is okay but it's def the shittiest of the main numbered FFs. The only thing I really liked was the battle system. The two sequels were hot garbage

I went back and played 13 when it was on sale. I actually enjoyed it when I gave it the second chance. Def was my least favorite but was enjoyable for the $5

13 had some positives with the battle system,music, and graphics. Everything else not so much.
