No, he's deliberately causing events to happen too early, which is triggering the "plot police," but they are being stretched so thin they don't catch everything.
That's way too simple and not convoluted enough for a ff game.

The great thing about this game is that, whether you're a newbie or a ff7 vet, the ending is confusing as shite
Also shout out to that random arse cait sith cameo

I think they deliberately left that unresolved. He survives his fall off the pillar (unlike the original) and survives the plate falling on sector 7, but when trying to leave the Shinra headquarters, he's stopped by the Whispers. The last words you hear him say are his dying words from the original game.

Got through chapter 11 last night. Having a blast still.
I love the combat, it really is so good. I’m not great at it, but I’ve gotten much better. I feel like I use a ton of cure spells and healing items though

Anyone else seen a way out there theory that Final Fantasy 7 takes place thousands of years after Final Fantasy X and that the Shinras are descendents of the Al-Bhed Shin-Ra?
Or, FFXV is thousands of years in the future from VII, and Midgaris the ancient Solheim that discovered making energy from star scurge.

I have yet to experience a game over screen. Not saying I don’t lose characters in combat but I really do try not to just hone in on Cloud. Party memebers you aren’t controlling ATB seems to move at a snails pace. So I just have to make a conscious effort to rotate a bit to help stagger and manage MP.
I love it. I love how the action combat can be slowed down and give time to process your next step etc. My controller is taking a beating though.

Always be switching
Also barrier and first strike materia are life savers

It would be an extremely lame way for him to die considering you spend a chapter saving him just for him to get got randomly during a cutscene. I also don’t understand why the whispers even kept him alive in the first place. Isn’t it their purpose to keep everything the same? And why the fricks is Biggs alive now? was the zack stuff a flashback or was it supposed to show there are 2 different dimensions?

I do switch a lot...granted it’s took me a few chapters to get there.

Honestly don’t think I’ve ever even equipped barrier lol. I also don’t guard a lot

You hear glass shatter, which implies he was thrown out the window.

I also really liked the callback with using braver on rufus to stagger

I'm having a blast with this game. Combat is so fun. They really nailed it and nailed the difficulty for me. Boss fights can be tough as frick but I haven't wiped yet, just beat the airbuster. That one got me closest to wiping, I had cloud and tifa out and Barrett with 200hp with a clutch Phoenix Down, Barrett died immediately after and then there was just enough lull to get everyone up and healed enough to get out of that bind
This game really has been everything I hoped it would. More, really.
