I think the second half is going to blow people away. I always loved everything after Midgar personally not the biggest fan of the Midgar part of the original.

I only played for about 2 hours or so last night because I had work early today...
But I loved what I've seen of Midgar thus far. The scope and detail of the city is impressive. Felt like actually being a part of the world. From somewhat recent games, I've only really felt so immersed in a world so quickly in Witcher 3 and FFXV.
Hopefully the trajectory continues.

Second HALF? How cute...you think this will take fewer than 3 games.
Remember in the original, Disk 1 was Midgar, Disk 2 went through Sephiroth getting the Black Materia and Disk 3 closed the game out.
I wonder how massive they will make the Highwind...C17 size or B52 size.
We forgot how ridiculously large Midgar is. It's basically a population of 200 Million people (by comparison, the largest city in the world, Mexico City, has 25 Million)

Ohh yeah no. I’d be upset if it was only one more disc after having Midgar in only one. I just meant from a story perspective.

I'm looking forward to the scene on the Mako Cannon where Tifa starts beating the shite out of Scarlet.
I can see them having Scarlet get one slap in, then Tifa grabs her wrist on the second attempt, breaks her arm, then with her other hand, grabs her by the hair and starts slowly dragging her towards the edge of the cannon and the camera shows cold murderous intent...

Me....the whole northern continent. The ancients..the life stream. When cloud wakes the frick up. Of course there is a scene with a giant laser gun. But visually I think cloud in the lifestream will be boner worthy.

It's good just finished 3 chapters , am in total awe.
I think me not having may expectations or huge stock in it, and it being my favorite all time game helps me just cherish every moment. Some ppl are trashing it but everything I've seen bitching about doesn't bother me.
I just can't believe we finally made it here, it's a surreal feeling.

The Wutai section of part 2, when it does get released, will be very interesting now that Shinra is basically calling Avalanche a subordinate of Wutai as an excuse to break the cease fire and go to war.

Not too far in, but it is a nice looking video game.
Music seems really good. Still sort of getting the hang of the battle system, but it seems like it has potential.

After you beat the game you can go back to any chapter and replay it. So nothing is technically missable.

But I have read much about "secret" and "hidden" missions.
I'm only just now on the train with the crew and hoping I haven't already missed a ton. I really took my time and explored every little corner of every piece of ground I passed. Broke every crate. Looted every chest. Killed every enemy, even the ones I could have avoided...
But I know how they hide stuff at Square Enix, so I feel like I may have missed things already.
Anyway, it just finished loading so I'm off to Midgar again.
