SWTOR launched with the same problem, although there was also a bug where online players would appear offline. Friending anyone in that game was hell.

Ifrit, Garuda, and some dungeons I believe. I'm sure there is more but I'm still working through story quests just to be able to do them.

The same trial fights you do to progress the story? Do you get loot for going back and doing them?

Yeah. First fights are pretty easy. A lot harder at the end and they drop their weapons. Drop rate was vicious in 1.0, so hopefully that's fixed.

7:00 pm is the big maintenance tonight, adding servers and fixing other issues. Hopefully they'll allow the transfers soon.

If you are doing any of the main story quest, around level 15 on those you'll unlock the airship pass. With that you can travel between the major cities, Uldah, Limsa, and Gridania. And any aetheryte (sic?) that you attune to can be warped to for gil as well.
You can also just travel to the cities and attune to their crystal and use that to travel also. Takes a little bit, especially if you don't have a mount, but that works too.

I can play it just fine. The game is pretty legit even for SE. These things are to be expected at the release of anticipated MMO. Deal with it.
