The long-awaited first episode of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake is delayed until April 10. Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase made the announcement this morning on the company’s official blog. The game was previously scheduled to arrive on Mar. 3.

“We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on,” Kitase said. “In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.”

Not sure how I feel about this...

March and April are both crazy busy release windows for noteworthy titles.

Ori & the Will of the Wisps - March 11, 2020
Nioh 2 - March 13, 2020
Doom Eternal - March 20, 2020
Resident Evil 3 - April 3, 2020
Final Fantasy 7 Remake - April 10, 2020
Cyberpunk 2077 - April 16, 2020

That's an insane 6 week period considering how slow things have been the past 6-9 months.

Ughh good.....

I mean would you want them to put out a game that wasn't to their standards?

Its a month and a week, that isn't that long.

Indeed, while it and Cyberpunk are two biggest games of that period, I think both will find good success. FF7 was likely scheduled for March just to make their fiscal year (ends 3/31 iirc).

This is why I'm a bit nervous tbh. A month delay tells me that they aren't finished (that wouldn't be polish) and are going to end up rushing it out.

I'd be way more comfortable with a 6 month delay over a month delay.

I am assuming this will push back the release onto other platforms as well.
