Well, the old NES is up and running. Installed a Nin10Drawer unit as a replacement for the 72-pin board. It's like butter.
Upgraded to wireless controllers. No lag.
Upgraded to a dual mono RCA/composite cable running to an AV/HDMI adapter into a 2003-ish Samsung LCD 48"-ish free TV my brother passed on to me.
Works like a dream and looks better than 1985. Mike Tyson is going DOWN.

If a console or a PC was worth the true value that it provides to me and my life, it would be worth like $10 grand every 3 years. I'm a regular middle class guy saying that. I know this affects many people out there but I don't care how much any of these things cost because of how many hours of entertainment I get out of them.

The NES was $200 in 1988
It was $100.
I remember that very well.
Super nintendo in 1991 was $200 though.

nobody is going to buy a ps6 at $1000.
$1000 is not what it used to be and people will pay it.
Someone mentioned earlier the console cycle is 7ish years, that puts your cost per hour playing pretty low.
We live in world where people will spend that much on just the airfare for a vacation or Starbucks coffee for half a year. Dinner for 4 at regular tree restaurant is around $100 now.
$1000 console is just a mental issue for you, not the masses. We waste money on the dumbest of things.

Yeah even with the blaster and duck hunt/smb with 2 controllers it just a hair over 100.

I remember being at wal mart and watching a lady grabbing a system and going buy it for her kids. I was so jealous.

Nearly everyone needs a PC.
Yeah I have a desktop at work. No gaming.
Don't have one at home. The reality is less and less people are using PCs. It's phones and tablets.
When I was a kid I got pc for my room. Kids now get tablets.
