Same. The horse concerns me a bit when it comes to combat...but I have only seen a little bit of gameplay. I dont know...the game certainly has a different feeling and I’m wondering if people are having complaints or if its being praised legitimately?

I’ve never played a DS game, so I’m getting absolutely destroyed, but it’s a really fun game. I have to figure out why my GPU is stuttering but haven’t really looked into it.

Also how do you equip a new weapon? How do I add the wolf things to a hot button so I don’t have to hit start and go find it every time? Is there a good spot to go farm some weapons/armor? I’m level 15 I think (vagabond) and have no idea what I’m doing. Still using all the same shite I started with.
I’m really good at sneaking up on the soldiers for easy kills at least

I find the horse combat to be a little clunky but I've yet to run into a situation where it's 100% necessary to use so it hasn't affected the game much for me.

Go to equipment and click on a right or left hand slot and pick a weapon

The only place I've had to 100% use it was against a Night Cavalry. Trying to fight them on foot is nigh impossible.
I spent my first 5-6 hours fighting one Night Cav to get an Ashes of War for my shield. It was worth it, but damn I'm pretty sure I was underpowered for it.
I'm so used to Sekiro where the answer was always "get gud." I'm too stubborn to go and farm to out-level things.
I'm making decent progress on my Paladin build, though.
But I def skipped the first real boss (Merit, or w/e his name is). I'll come back when I have a bit more gear.

The big guy at the base of the fort and all the other enemies do not respawn after you kill the leader at the top and leave the area. The giant drops a flail but I’m not going STR so I don’t mind that I missed him by saving him for last.

Anyone having serious performance issues with this game on PC . RTX 3080 / 11th Gen Intel i9 119809k MSI Raider GE66 .Have it hdmi 2.1 to OLED C1 at 4K. Having constant stuttering and framerate drops in the 30-40's . Making it unplayable at times . Tried turning down resolution , playinmg on medium graphics setting and still the same . Nothing Ive tried improves performance. Its starts off good then performance falls off a cliff .

Yeah I'm moving my prisoner build. I'm switching between a plus 7 spear and a plus the uchigatana. Beat Margit on my first try with help of my jellyfish ash of war. I think I have one or two more dungeons in this first area and then gonna tackle the first legacy dungeon. I think I'm around level 30 or so. I gotta go back and be the tree sentinel soon as well.

I am getting better with the combat. I’ve gone up like 5-6 levels now. Still no clue how to do multiplayer.
I feel like I also am not utilizing the combat controls as efficiently as I probably should.
Is anyone parrying opposing attacks with success? It never works for me. I have abandoned it and pretty much only dodge roll now.

I have done it a few times.
My thing is i panic too much in battles. I had to swap my attacks from R1 and R2 to Square and Triangle. I was running into battles and hitting square over and over to attack so i was just healing myself. lol

Yeah one thing ive learned with these games is that theres no point getting upset when you lose lots of souls. Eventually you will lose millions. Just ignore it lol

Have any of y'all been able to be the Ulcerated Tree Boss in the dungeon where you start the game. You have to use a stone sword key to get in that dungeon. Thing is super hard.
