At all
At all

Slow, creeping, running away
That is Resident Evil, not DOOM.
Thematically yes it is DOOM, but not game play, not in any sense.

But all I know is I will get hyped for any project/game Hugo Martin leads.

No you’re wrong.
What skill level did you play it on? It’s doom just like doom and doom 2.

The thing about Doom 3 is that you aren't a superhuman killing machine. You are just a regular grunt pulling security when everything goes to shite around you. There's no buildup, no tutorial, it's just happening all around you and you have to survive.

Doom 3 is a solid game. It is not an ordinary Doom game however as it focused on more horror aspects rather than fast-paced action around the clock which is the inverse of the previously mentioned titles. When I play Doom, I want to be dealing with absolutely crazy amount of action consistently. Doom 3 did not do this though.

In OG Doom, the marine is the only survivor. In Doom 3, you can hear things going to shite on your radio while you are trying to fight your way out.

Regardless, just reinforces that Doom 3 was going for an atmosphere & horror angle more than the high intensity, fast-paced action of standard Doom gameplay.
Doesn't mean it was a bad game in general. More of a bad Doom game, but a fine game aside from that.
Several steam reviews actually worded it to the effect of: Approach it like a non-Doom game and you'll have a good time.

Resident Evil went from creeping single player survival horror to pretty much straight action back to creeping survival horror and had great games in both style of game play. And there are apparently more than a few Doom 3 fans so as I said earlier perhaps a mix of gameplay. Its two different types of high tension that if done well could be something new and cool. I realize that has the potential to piss off fans of both if not done well so there is some risk.

Been thinking about picking up the new Dooms. I loved playing the ones on the computer as a kid. Never knew what the frick was going on but it was as mindless of a game I could ever want.

They are some of the best games this decade.
Pick up the reboot and eternal.
Edt: A few men I trust everything they speak, Joe Burrow and Hugo Martin.
So, pick up the new DOOMs.

Movie?
Yes, esp now with good lore.
But I've always wanted a Half-Life movie or series.

Yeah nothing in that video changed my opinion at all
As I said, a solid game that doesn't really feel like the rest of the Doom series with regard to the really fast paced, high intensity type of gameplay.

Yeah, I think it helped our argument.

Would be cool to build a character. With a tree build like borderlands 2. Human or Demon. Few different types of both that can be upgraded very differently.
And kinda like those old Alien vs Predator and jurassic park games where you could be an alien or raptor and go after people, would be an interesting twist. Space forces would have different levels of badassery for a rogue demon to conquer.
But, what I loved about the old DOOM 1 & 2 was the simplicity. Which if updated in legit VR, would have a lot of potential.
Doom 1 & 2 was always Death Metal in video game form imo

We have this in the Battlemode. I love playing as an Marauder. But yeah in story/campaign mode. I see us playing as a Night Sentinel in a DLC. Almost positive that will happen.
