Does anyone in here play Rust?

Just started playing and it's pretty cool but would be better with people on my team. If anyone plays or wants to play come join the server I'm in. Idk the name of it ill ETA when I get home. Just trying to get an idea rn.

the loss was so brutal.

I have played a bit. I now realize I enjoy watching talented people play Rust, and I don't really enjoy actually playing Rust.

The one I’m in right now is pretty cool. I like the no building decay. If I had more time I wouldn’t mind it.

So what about the new update made this game so great that so many big streamers started playing? Not saying it was never a great game but just found it interesting that a bunch of FPS streamers spend a lot of time on it.

It wasn't one update, but the culmination of the past year's worth of updates. Horses, helis, electricity, crafting and item tweaks, farming 2.0, tech tree.....it's not the same game it was a year ago, much less 3 years ago.
RP is slowly creeping back into the game. Not so much on the sweaty servers, but you're slowly seeing it come back.

I played a good bit at the start of quarantine (March-June) and had a blast playing. I binge the shite out of this game once I get back in to it... Just like Minecraft

In all seriousness though, it's great if you 1) have a team and 2) play the right server. I don't mind PVP but the super sweaty servers aren't fun at all.

It isn't that bad if you play it smart.
Don't build big, build smart. Keep a stash or two buried nearby.
Much of it comes down to the server though. I've played rustafied long and had 2x2s survive an entire wipe. On stevious and other sweaty servers I'll get a 2x1 shite shack foundation wiped.

Yeah but then you gotta do all that farming. That's why I like 2x or a server with levels mods. I hate spending 30+ minutes just grinding for upkeep. If you have a team it's not bad but as a solo, frick that.
