Did Nintendo make a good decision to showcase only 2 games at E3 in retrospect?

I know one thing. It was definitely 100% better than last year's showcase. Last year's E3 for Nintendo was a disaster. But what do y'all think? I believe they made the right decision. They'd be stupid to showcase any other games considering the Wii U is about to hit 6 feet under. Zelda and Pokemon are both Nintendo's respective cash cows when they release (along with Mario). Very thorough demos of both games and I felt they were explained reasonably well. I'd go so far as to say that 1 trailer for LoZ: BOTW beats just about everything they've shown in the last 2 E3s.

I think if they had shown anything else it really would've stole the thunder of the two games we saw today. JMO though.

NOTE: Both soundtracks to those games were absolutely phenomenal.

Considering those game were Zelda and Pokemon, yes. They should have showed off the NX though.

I mean that's all they have, got to play the cards you're delt.

Also don't they have a show later in the year showing off the NX, bet that's where we see the games (new Pikmin and Mario)

Considering Sony and Microsoft didn't show anything worthy of an E3 conference I would day yes.

A new console being announced is always E3 worthy as is new hardware like the VR headset. Not all of the games were, but some were.

Yeah, there wasn't a ton of announcements as both Sony and MS's conferences were shorter than normal, but to say this is just absurd. Forza Horizon 3 looks great, Dead Rising 4 should very good, new God of War looked fantastic, Resident Evil 7 is going back to its horror roots, and all of the new trailers for announced games.

Not sure where you can say that after seeing both Pokemon and Zelda's showings...

It's not that any of it was bad or anything. Most of it was confirmations than announcements.

Most of this conference was full of games that got the reaction as though they were announced in week 2 of October. It was just "meh" all around.

I think Nintendo is waiting for TGS to release more information.

They announced this Zelda game too soon and hinted at the NX too soon as well. We've been waiting in anticipation for so long we're getting frustrated. It is smart of them to wait until things are more developed before showing them off.

All of their eggs are now in the NX basket and they are hopefully building up a strong launch lineup. If it is coming out in Spring or possibly delayed to Fall 2017, then it makes sense for them to wait a little to reveal all their cards.

You're talking out of your arse.

GoW completely re-done from previous games in franchise.
Days Gone is a new IP under previously-titled Dead don't Ride.
Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing VR support.
Kojima working on a Norman Reedus mindfrick game.
Crash 1, 2, and 3 Remastered.
PS VR has a release date this fall.
Horizon Zero Dawn has a release date next February.
The Last Guardian has a release date this fall.
Batman VR.
Resident Evil was actually the Kitchen Demo, plus it has VR support, plus there's a playable demo out now.
Insomniac working on a new Spiderman game.

All that is new and just from the Sony press conference. We already knew about Pokemon and Zelda.

Half of that shite was announced at last year's E3 or leaked months ago.

I can understand if you are shilling for Sony and all, but try and be honest with yourself for a moment.

What did Nintendo show that we didn't know about?

Hell Sony had more first time footage of their games than any of the big 3, Microsoft behind them and they didn't even focus on that.

Nothing, and that's why it didn't hurt to show up with just two of your biggest franchises.

This whole conference was about as safe as it gets. Nobody stile the show and or felievws a jaw ftopping moment. They can't all be hone runs and this one wasn't.

If anything, the most exciting announcement was Project Scorpio.

Everything in Bold wasn't a surprise

Unless you get consider a release date as a big announcement (ya know, those things we can't put any stock into anymore) All of this was already known. The forums at IGN have been talking about this stuff for months now

GoW completely re-done from previous games in franchise.
Days Gone is a new IP under previously-titled Dead don't Ride.
Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing VR support.
Kojima working on a Norman Reedus mindfrick game.

So announcing things like release dates or releasing all those new trailers/game demo footage is not worthy of E3? Then exactly what the frick is E3 for?

Oh, and you didn't know God of War was going to look like that, you didn't know Norman Reedus was working with Kojima again, you didn't know Crash 1-3 was being remastered, you didn't know any of the release dates, you didn't know Insomniac was the dev team working on the new Spiderman game.

So yeah, you're FOS dude. I'm out...
