All the early talk is so positive.

We all do brother. The gaming world needs a good Diablo.

Setting yourself up for disappointment

Can’t wait. But will wait to buy game. frick preorders. That’s why their games suck balls at launch. Happens every year with CoD.

Anyone who thinks this game will be amazing is kidding themselves. will it play well? Yes. Will it have deep character customization? No. Will it have interesting items? No. Will it have repetitive endgame? Yes. Will it have "just find a higher ilvl version of the item you already have?" Yes.

It's a reskinned Diablo 3. The animations are practically the same. They are making a redo of Diablo 3 and removing some of the things that people didn't like. It's going to be a good game, but it's not going to be a game with staying power or longevity.

People that played the end game beta have a much different opinion on the game than people who recently got leveling beta.

So I have had D3 for years but never played anything beyond the storyline part until I had covid earlier this year. I've really enjoyed playing a hardcore seasonal character (except for literally every death being caused by a d/c).

Why do people rag on D3 so much? What made D2 better? Does D4 fix it?

I've got just enough money left on my blizz account to preorder D4 but I'm kinda wary about being strung along for a battle pass or other content barriers after I've already paid full price for a game.

D3 had a really rough launch and most hate is directed at the real money auction house. It got into a good spot not long after though.

D4 looks to improve on a lot things while returning the atmosphere and feel of the game darker and more like D2.
