Diablo animated series coming to Netflix

4 came out in 2023. 6 years between mainline entries seems like a pretty decent amount of time.

Diablo has some pretty good lore that would work well in a Netflix series.

Diablo is one of my favorite games ever, came out right when I was in middle school so one of my earliest "big" game memories.
I'm excited for it as a 41 year old.

If they pick a specific point in the lore and really focus on fleshing it out, it could be a good series. The issue is that the longer the game series has gone on, the more absurd the plot has become to keep rehashing the same conflict between Sanctuary/The Heavens and the Prime Evils.
It starts to feel like a saturday morning cartoon when you find 1000 different ways to reset the board to ensure that you have a conflict in which to sell another loot grind action RPG.
They could probably have a multi season narrative where you have the civil war within Hell, have the Primes cast out of Hell, the initial conflict where each prime is imprisoned by Horadrim into their respective soulstones, and then lead into the plots of Diablo 1 & 2.
Past that point, you start to see too much cheesy bullshite. The contrivances to bring Diablo/Mephisto/etc back again and again post Diablo 2 are worse than comic book retcons. But that's just my opinion.
