Exactly.

Yes but it really took me out of the game. I'm an OG Deus Ex fan but that game played and felt different from HR.

It's easier and more fun to stealth around, hack, and go invisible then slit someone's throat quietly and drag them into an air duct.
Steath wasnt done all so well. Felt unnatural compared to games who did it well like Splinter Cell and Hitman.

having played a lot of stealthy splinter cells, I can agree with that
we didn't have a augmentation to make ourself invisible when in the jungle, or on rooftops of some middle east shithole. had to use light meters, not make sound etc.
I felt that HR still was "good enough" to satisfy my stealthy combat needs. I seem to remember foregoing gunplay entirely for hacking robots (lol) and invisibility

MD plot:
quote:
The sequel to Human Revolution, titled Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which is set two years after the events of Human Revolution, was revealed on April 8, 2015. The labyrinthine plot of the upcoming game shows that after the Panchaea Incident, augmentations were heavily opposed by the public and augmented people are being forcibly segregated by the non-augmented, which has led in a divided world. Adam Jensen collaborates with an INTERPOL-funded task force to deal with the threat of augmented terrorists who have sprung up in response to this backlash. His new-found allegiance is to eventually become tested when he meets a mysterious global hacktivist group which is holding its very own set of shadowy interests. Following his discovery of the Illuminati in the year 2027, Jensen is determined to bring down the shadowy group by almost any means possible. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was originally set for a release date of February 23, 2016, but was delayed until August 23, 2016,[126] exactly 5 years after the release of Human Revolution.

My favorite was hacking turrets to attack everyone and the using augmented strength to pick it up and walk around.

It has been so long since I played the original Deus Ex or its sequel, but I felt like Human Revolution missed the boat on what Deus Ex was supposed to be. The game advertises the ability to play how you want yet the deck is heavily stacked against any other play style aside from stealth then you have pretty significant XP bonuses associated with finishing a mission without killing anyone which seems to clearly favor one style of play over another.
Then you have PS2-era animations which I won't go into

You guys are ruining my thread

I agree about the game being slanted towards stealth but the kills were sick in that game.
I played the original deus ex and replayed it about 10-15 times. I loved it.
HR was amazing to me. It reminded me of the original in tone while completely refreshing game play.
If they improve on a couple of things (ie make it feel like it's not a square enix game) this will be GOTY to a lot of people. Myself included.

I haven't played any of the games in this series and will probably pass on this till it's on sale.
I am intrigued by the stealth gameplay though

This is not what I'm talking about.

Jeff, you would love it
Sbr, this thread is not going as planned. People will jerk off over a gimmick game like no man's sky but shite on DE. Says a lot about this board

Sadly, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

It's literally the best RPG FPS I've played in a long time.

If it's anything like splinter cell or MSG, I'm sure I will
Terrible game

Goddammit it's so far away.
I'm going in full stealth until I get that goddamn armor. Then I'm fricking shite up. They shall fear me haha

I'll probably go stealth until inevitably screw up and have to murder my way out.

They look to have added a lot of range stealth take downs in this one. Should make it easier.
