They can't. It's the entire basis of the game. Destiny is FPS world of warcraft. Have to have end game progression or it goes stale too fast.

Played d1 and d2 for a long time, quit about when they removed some paid expansions to make way for their freemium model, i guess since they couldn't be arsked to make a third game.
Logged in for shits and giggles, was treated to a somewhat entertaining mission with a magic horse neighing around and a huge treasure room at the end with loot I needed a DLC to get.
I was left with a 'what the hell is this game about anymore' feeling and haven't played it since. Which is too bad because the gunplay was almost the best there is.
