Also there's a whole class of weapons that don't get used now, because if you're not rocking either a sword or rocket launcher for the power weapon slot then you're at a disadvantage for PVP so you never really see many shotguns or fusion rifles. It's just a lot more bland and slow experience than the first. They improved bad stuff for sure but got rid of a lot of good stuff too.

I'm pretty sure I haven't got a sniper kill yet in crucible and I was half arse decent at it in D1. Sniper going in the same weapon slot as rockets really makes it a bitch to use.

Plus you lose your ammo for it if you die, and introduces a whole new balancing issue because there is no way to spawn sniper ammo and rocket ammo at a good rate when they are in the same slot. It will always be too slow for snipers or too fast for rockets when categorized like that.

What? If you can't get kills with a fusion or shotgun you are not using them right. Fusions are amazing.

Overall PVP in Destiny 2 is much better than what it had become in D1. This is coming from somebody who almost only played PVP in D1 for 3 years.

Not saying you can't but its much more advantageous to put a rocket launcher in that slot especially with the reduced movement/jump speeds. As a result, a lot less variety and a much slower feel to the games. If that's your thing then good on ya, but I liked the organized chaos of the first. Plus most of the stuff people complained about in that one like shotgun sliding/shoulder charge could be countered if you knew what was up.

You picked this game up yesterday, chill out.
I assure you fusions and shotguns are better than rocket launchers and swords unless you are playing guys that don't know how to move.

Movement speed is not bad at all. Radar has changed and they removed titan skating. You still can get around very fast. They just removed unlimited OHK. WHich is 100% a good thing.

Yea, if you get a decent fusion rifle, it shreds in pvp. Rockets are fine, but a fusion rifle is dirty. I haven't been able to use a sword effectively in pvp however. can never get close enough to anyone.

Fair enough just haven't liked what I've seen so far. Longer TTK being the biggest of those issues.

MIDA is for sure a problem right now. It is all but guaranteed to get nerfed. I think it is in 34% of load outs or something right now. And in trials way higher.

I think if they dropped its rate of fire back to where it was in D1, it would probably be fine. It just fires really quick right now.

High caliber rounds are the problem with it IMO.

As far as movement speeds go, I like them way better in D2. The hunter is faster, more agile, and squishier than the others, as it should be. In D1, the hunter was just more squishy and couldn't nearly keep up with a titan crossing the map. You HAD to run bones on a hunter to have a chance.

Agreed. I've thoroughly enjoyed the game on a mechanics basis. The beta felt a little off, but they definitely tightened everything up.

Even in crucible with MIDA being what it is, I haven't felt like anything is just super overpowered TBH. Auto rifles and pulse rifles are damn dangerous too. The biggest key is playing numbers more than anything else. Stick together and you can melt people using any weapon.

Exactly the biggest thing I take away from the crucible state right now and how it was in later D1 is when I am killed it feels that I was just out played by a more skilled player or I made a bad move that put myself in a bad spot. Not bullshite sticky grenades, OHK weapons, or super training.

I honestly wish the MIDA perk for radar was not even in the game though. Same with knucklehead radar. With the changes to radar after ADS, it is a bit over powered. You should be punished for hard scoping.

Have any of you gotten the Lincoln Green kinetic pulse rifle? This thing is a beast. It has a ridiculously high fire rate. Very Clever Dragon/Grasp. I haven't taken it into the Crucible yet, but my god it's my favorite gun right now.

I have not even seen that one. I've been using Nightshade a ton and it has been doing well. Nightshade + Jiangshi AR4 energy weapon has been a pretty solid set up.

Yes, I have it. It is pretty much the meta of pulse right now. I can't get myself to move out MIDA in my kinetic slot though.

My normal set up is.

MIDA
Valakadyn (only because I can't get a Uriel to drop, just got prosecutor at 7 wins and will be switching to that)
Main Ingredient

Hard Raid and Prestige NF aside, is there reason to grind for >280 Power level?

As of now it doesn't matter in Trials. Somebody told me that is temporary and it will go back to mattering like it did in D1 but I didn't see it from Bungie.

Iron Banner comes in October and I assume that will take power level into account again.
