Hardest thing about this game is that it is open world so I don't know where to go for my level...just have to test the waters and if I get 1 shotted I go somewhere else

on release night, my buddy and I tried going to catacombs and new londo because it was the only paths we could find out of firelink...we were like "there's no way the game is THIS fricking hard..." We got owned so badly

Well I guess that just means you get to start a new character, and do it all over again.

Got the drake sword but going to take forever to increase strength enough to actually use it.

Drake sword shouldn't take much strength to use. You should be able to use it pretty quick

I think my game is cursed on NG++. The first time I got to it my character glitched and wouldnt work. This time, i just get to it and all my characters are deleted. I think if I get there again my xbox might just stand up, say frick you and explode.

I'd go there and maybe farm some purple moss from the trees that attack you. If you want you can go down the mountain and fight the hydra (super easy if you find the right spot and you won't get hit). I wouldn't suggest fighting Sif just yet.
You'll have to go kill the capra demon to get the key to the depths.
