While I agree, I also never summon NPCs, ever, I want to beat the bosses solo, the hardest possible way, but it doesn't take away from my experience to know someone else beat the game summoning all NPCs.
That being said, summoning NPCs is a bit different than creating an easy mode... I know that

Nothing wrong with NPCs or summoning players, but that should be enough.

pounding it...pounding it...
He had a point though that it doesn't really affect your game. I didn't know that was an option and I beat that game.

He starts discussing Souls around the 7' mark. I unequivocally disagree, of course. From has a concrete vision and philosophy for these games (the difficulty even ties into the overall themes of the games) and they shouldn't be coerced into making a difficulty mode for the sake of inclusion. Talk about fairness -- most Souls players have to work to obtain their skill and experience the euphoria of beating a tough boss or zone; having an easy
mode where players could bypass all of that and then reap the benefits that others players had to work to obtain isn't fair. Not all games have to be for everyone, and these games fall into that category and that should be okay.
I agree that Souls shouldn't have an easy mode but for a different reason. I just think that the hook of those games is the difficulty and overcoming it. If they put an easy mode in then they are not representing their product well.

This I don't care about
And add a fricking pause feature already

Unfortunately a large portion of the souls community will ridicule people for doing this

No argument from me. They are why people say the souls community is toxic.

It's the ultimate 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' group of nerds. I've had some good experiences with people online, but it's outweighed by the harassment and general nastiness I've received, unfortunately.

No different here. You took the time to co-op Bloodborne chalice dungeons with me, good guy. Then there is Devious, bad guy.

yeah I had meant to say that as well, I have nothing against people that summon, it's their game and their playstyle, and IDGAF how you play it, just glad you are experiencing it with me!
Gard... so... there is a pause feature.. learn how to quickly exit the game without even looking

Alright boys, we're getting close!!
What type of build are you going for on your first playthrough?
As for me, I'll be rolling the ol classic sorceress in offline mode. I'm taking this shite slowly! Half the fun in experiencing a new Souls game is trying to piece together the lore all by yourself. And, of course, making as many mistakes and frickups as possible!

Going Assassin - fairly high dex, enough int to use magic weapon and starts with the Estoc. I'm thinking about buying the Japanese version so I can play in a few days.

Yeah, he's horrible and lazy. I've beaten him a couple of times and will never touch him again.

Orphan of Kos down on first try. Really sloppy fight, used all my vials and got lucky

Platinum complete.
Man it sucked submitting to Gehrman. Such a good fight to have to turn down. Needed that ending, though. Think I'm done with From games until DS3. I used to shoot for NG +7 with different builds, but I think I'm done with that too. The only significant jump is from NG to NG+ as far as I can tell, so I'll play through NG+ from now on then start new characters.

Congrats. I really hope they do something about NG+ in 3. 2 is a step in the right direction, but a bunch of black phantoms scattered about still isn't enough incentive for me to play passed NG+.

Agreed. I would appreciate something a little more fresh and dynamic
