precisely. all of their moves complement each other well and it never feels overwhelming.
my favorite bosses are the ones that are close to, or a few feet taller than, the player character. give them a similar moveset and speed, and make it a battle of of pure skill
fume knight, alonne, shadows, bloody crow of cainhurst, old king allant, and penetrator from soulsborne
Vergil from DMC3
Clone from Ninja Gaiden Black. One of my favorites

I like some of the larger bosses, but the camera and the inability to lock on to anything but their waist becomes too big an issue. Gehrman, Maria, Yharnam, and Logarius are in my top 5 from Bloodborne.

i dont know why i left those out
Gherman, Maria, and Logarius are probably the top 3 bosses in the game.
Yharnam didnt really do it for me. i think it's because i beat the living frick out of her and got hit MAYBE once. Orphan of Kos was an awesome fight though

Yeah, guys like Flamelurker, Sif, Kalameet, are awesome. I like the large, aggressive bosses that can move pretty quick.
Storm King is pretty underrated IMO.

Martyr Logarius is a bitch and I hate him, that is all, good day

He's kind of a pushover if you can get him into a pattern. Stay on his arse and backstab him as he goes into his buff.
I beat him on NG+7 the other night. I wanted to kick myself in the dick; absolute trash at that fight.

I always do, iono, maybe he's just so different than other souls like bosses or something, and maybe partially because I'm fighting him at level 39, but I just can't seem to get his last 20% health

Yup, I just have to discard the "wait for an opening" mindset from the souls games.. and attack him mercilessly. He's dead

holy shite. talk about a close call at the end. you needed one more hit and he almost one-shotted you
i can whip his arse in his first stage with consecutive parry/viscerals, but man his 2nd stage is tough

What's fricked up is it had been one shorting me every time. I would have had a come apart if I had died.

Beat Ludwig on 2nd try of NG+ last night. I don't think his second form even touched me. His first always gives me trouble

Here's a vid of my fight with Lady Maria. I shouldn't have uploaded it, but I wanted y'all to see how tight the end was. She really whooped my arse and deserved to win. I hadn't fought her in months and forgot some of her moves. Depleted all of my resources

Wow.. I definitely know what was going through your head towards the end
. I love that boss - everything about it: design, score, arena. Just beautiful and savagely elegant. She's in my top 5 of Soulsborne bosses.
My nerdy cosplay of her is the one I went through NG+7 with. LINK

It was insane. I thought I was done for. Thought of you in the Orphan fight

Yep. She's probably my favorite in BB

Goodness...you beat the living shite out of her. Your videos demonstrate such poise and control. It's like you know everything the bosses are even thinking about doing. You timed her transitions perfectly. Knew exactly how many hits you could get in before backing off for her to transform. My video was so sloppy. Should've fought her once before to get a feel for her again. Didn't think I'd beat her on my first try.
Very impressive

2.) The Shadows of Yharnam is a wonderful boss fight
Beat them last night, right after I beat them the thought "man I should have recorded that" went through my head
I fight them a bit differently than you did, the samurai one doesn't even live to see the second phase lol

I usually take out Katana first, but flamethrower left himself open too many times

well I mean, I get him down to like 53% health, use a bolt paper, V. ATT him, and then wail on him as they are transforming... he literally dies before the transformation is complete.
I then kill the one that throws flames at you, then the flamethrower

Jim Sterling on game difficulty.
He starts discussing Souls around the 7' mark. I unequivocally disagree, of course. From has a concrete vision and philosophy for these games (the difficulty even ties into the overall themes of the games) and they shouldn't be coerced into making a difficulty mode for the sake of inclusion. Talk about fairness -- most Souls players have to work to obtain their skill and experience the euphoria of beating a tough boss or zone; having an easy
mode where players could bypass all of that and then reap the benefits that others players had to work to obtain isn't fair. Not all games have to be for everyone, and these games fall into that category and that should be okay. And I rolled my eyes at him comparing same sex romance options to difficulty settings. I like Jim, but get the frick out with that shite. What a straw man and a contradiction.
