So I upgraded my shipbuilding technology to level one (804 Ireland), but when I went to build a shipyard in a coastal province I own it said that I didn't have that technology. I noticed after the fact on the technology screen that it says advancements in capital province. Well my capital is landlocked so how the frick do i build galleys then?
Thanks.
Also will I always be tribal?
One more question sorry, it says the title of two chiefdoms i conquered will be lost on succession and some bishopherics (sp). How do I stop that? Why won't those go to my heir?
Thanks.

Move your capital? (I'm not sure - I'm a relative novice myself.)

No. The actions available are under "intrigue" - it tells you what laws you have to change and such to make the choice active.

Okay thanks, maybe someone else can answer the ship question.

I think you have to upgrade to Stone Hillfort at your capital, too, to transition to feudal - in addition to the handful of laws that have to be changed. You'll see it at the top of the intrigue actions, but it will be ghosted out until you meet all the requirements.
I've never had a landlocked capital, so I've never had an issue with galleys - you can even have shipyards at the temples build vassal galleys.

I think I have to wait for the the technology to spread to my coastal provinces. I did notice the prerequisites for feudal and hill forts

This. You can use a councillor to 'spread technology' as one of their missions, or relocate your capital.

I keep seeing people talk about using councilor to research or spread tech. I don't have that option. Maybe I don't have schools or laws to allow me to do that. It's only 814... I'm still tribal

You can send your Spymaster to other countries to study technology. You may be able to send him to one of your counties to spread it.

Yeah he's spying on Constantinople now. I just got alert that one of my techs spread but it sadly wasn't shipping

Anyone still having issues getting a hold on this gem, just start as duke/count in Ireland.
Best place to learn.

So I decided to play the actual CK2 game instead of the GoT mod. But every time I do the initial unpause, the game crashes
Anyone dealt with this?

How in the hell do I access the minor title screen, where I can see who my commanders are? I got a new guy with high military but don' t know where to look to get to the screen that lists my commanders.

If you look at your council screen, I think the button is upper right to "view minor titles".
I think - can't confirm right now.

If y'all enjoy CK2, you should pick up EU4 whenever it pops up on a steam sale.

I don't know if I'm sold yet - I still have some trouble with the mechanics - it is very compelling, I'll grant you that, but I've just played vanilla plus some DLC off the bundle - it may be just different enough from what I'm used to - I may be too old to do the whole Paradox thing.

EU2 was the first Paradox game I seriously considered then Heart of Iron - but I just never dove in. I like micromanagement games, but there may be just too much of it in these games.
Still giving it (CK2) a go, though.
