I won't be buying this but i wanna see it succeed because it was really ambitious.
As long as the devs keep working on it they have a lot to work with. It sold enough where i don't think theyll abandon it.

I like it a lot and hate it at the same time.
Had to clear out bandits from a quarry, and the amount of enemies I had to kill was just insane. Was not difficult once I upgraded my gear except for I kept hitting the exploding barrels and killing myself. Luckily it respawned me close enough to the place that progress was intact, and I just kept chipping away at it.
I think I may end up somewhere on the side of favoring quality over quantity, but it's truly a beautiful game with some interesting mechanics.

I had another mission where I had to clear out a few locations, with a meter, before getting to the boss. You can eventually use your camp to help clear these out.
This game is great and doesn't hold your hand. Slow burn to start, but getting into chapter 4 and it picks up.

Lawd. It may take me months just to get out of Chapter 1 at this rate....
ETA: But man does it look beautiful running on my new rig. 5080 paired to a 32in Asus OLED HDR display. Running everything at 4k cranked to the max.

I'm waiting to see what it looks like a year from now when all the performance/balance/QoL patches (and possibly some DLC) are out.

Yeah some questionable decisions, but you definitely get used to it.
I’m at 30 hours in and starting to understand how to put chain attacks together and starting to memorize specific skill attacks.
Definitely takes some getting used to, but it starts to flow.

You should see it running on Performance Mode on my Xbox Series X. Played on my $250 58" Hisense 4K TV.
1080p cranked out to the max!

I actually prefer it on my XBox running on quality mode over my PC, which has a 4070 ti super.
Something about kicking back on the couch in the home theater with this game just does it for me

Looks like it’s up to a 9/10 on steam.
Those early reviews continuing to look silly

Predicting that the next big patch will allow us to tame exotic mounts. As of now all those cool lion, bear, lizard, etc mounts are temporary. They’ll run away or become hostile as soon as you get off.

I prioritize framerate over graphics, though I would prefer both but gave up PC gaming 20 years ago. It does a good job of staying at 60fps.

few days ago they hit 3 million sales
Their stock has almost completely rebounded from the initial drop.
Happy to see the good guys win.
Crimson Desert is the wake up call the gaming industry needs, like Project Hail Mary is for Hollywood

I don’t know if I would call it a wake up call….but again I don’t really know what to call it either. I don’t know what this game is.
All I know is that I want to keep playing it . I learn something new every time I play. I’m having fun.
I think an awesome story, some better UI/ inventory management and better targeting would really elevate this to 10/10 status.
Right now I’ve got it at an 8.5/10 but that keeps growing. If I bc a build a house and have some sim actives…that number will rise.
I’m willing to bet the sequel to this…which there will be…will be much improved. There is a future here.

No microtransactions, no elaborate story, janky controls
And here we are at 10 AM on a Wednesday with 176k players, and 3 million in sales after many games journos have lbeen blasting it.
You make games for the players, not for the critics.

I just beat that mission yesterday and I'm with you. Each person you killed counted for 0.55% of the total 100%. It was ridiculous. Not difficult but ridiculous, I was just ready for it to be over.
Overall, I'm really enjoying the game though.

Ahh I see what you mean. I don’t keep up with the journalists or critics anymore. Always listen to the player “majority” not the ughhh loud outliers…who would say something like…I enjoyed the most recent dragon age.

There's a term that I love for the critics of games like this, "yellow paint gamers".
It doesn't hold your hand at all and you just have to figure shite out.
I'm only 32 but I'm old enough to remember when you had to either figure it out or buy a magazine like Game Informer from EB games

The reason I have such a soft spot for ES Morrowind, is because I remember having to figure shite out.
You see a cave in the distance, enter and find yourself in the middle of a crazy Daedra ritual.
Just the feeling you are seeing shite and doing random shite in crazy ways all on your ownability and knowledge. . .
. . .man THAT is gaming.
