Honestly it's not really very similar to any past COD. The maps are way too big (huge compared to past games), the health is way too low (but its been descending every year since MW2), the graphics are great but the character movement and stuff looks just like battlefield , there are a ton of stupidly OP guns (a la MW2), the game is not even remotely competitive friendly (maps have no lanes, no cod caster, no good comp game modes), and the spawns are terrible, even in DOM which has had pretty consistent spawns historically.

Jumbled post, but you get it.

It compares to all other COD since they are all nearly the exact same.

I have played quite a few, but dont remember them enough to say which it compares most to. Most game modes are awful because the maps are too large and the game modes are really limited right now

I agree with AFAT, you never have any idea where the res is with the maps being so large and so many different ways through. Max players in a game right now is 12 as well.

I was getting destroyed playing in all of the fun match types that I'd normally enjoy and do decently well in. My K/D was awful, went to Free for all and its a lot more fun, K/D a lot higher an where I'd normally play at.

It resemble mw2 the most. The maps are about the size of mw2 and the guns kill about as fast. The spawns aren't as bad as the other poster mentioned. The hit detection is much better than any of the 3arc titles. It's a good not great cod title.

i figured it would compare most to mw2 the most with the maker being the same. Man if they could have stuck to blops 1 format and cleaned it up a little then the series would have been a winner

If they release some better maps in the map packs and bring back the traditional games modes the game will be solid.

Its hard to compare but i feel like the guns (while not the same models as MW2) have individual unique feels to them like the guns in MW2 felt.

It feels like it has a lot of MW2 and Black Ops components...but the new gun characteristics will take a little getting use to.

I was able to play for a couple of hours last night. I've played every COD since MW1. My opinions may change once the kids find out the cheese but here goes. I'm going to reiterate a lot of points that have been posted here.

- Maps are HUGE. There are a good bit of Battlefield moments of running around looking for somebody. This isn't a negative for me. Just going to take getting use to. Why they don't have Groundwar in this game is a head-scratcher. The maps are made for it. Could we see groundwar on the PS4/XB1?
- Best looking COD yet. You can actually see the enemy as opposed to MW3 washed out color scheme.
- Hit detection is spot on (IW has always done this right) BUT you die extremely fast. Again, something you need to get use to coming from Blops 1 and 2. Folks who are use to running into a room and out gunning multiple players aren't going to like this game. If you want to get a killstreak going you need to pre-aim every corner. First shot gets the kill 90% of the time.
- There were hardly any killstreaks at all. Refreshing. I think this is a direct result of the low health. It's hard to stack kills. The Maniac Juggernaut everyone was freaking out about is not OP. First off it's a 9 killsteak which isn't easy to get in this game and they are fairly easy to take out because of the map design.
- Create a class system seems overly complicated. I may not feel this way after playing a few weeks.
- The only new game mode I played was Blitz. Fun game. Full crew communicating would wreck shop.

It's a different COD. I can't really compare it to any other entry in the series. I had a good time with it.

I think it's weird that they didn't include Ground War or Demo. Do they have SnD? They may make you buy that crap with DLC, too.

traditional Search and Destroy can only be played in private matches.

It's replaced in pubs with search and rescue. Search and Destroy with a kill confirmed element.

I enjoyed some of the new game modes but this game has taken out a lot of aspects about COD that I loved and didn't add much.

I had a good time gaming with my buds again since it's been a while but I'm bringing this game back today.
