The irrational hate for Pewds is really something. I don't watch him at all but how people can feel so strongly about someone that doesn't impact their life at all is hilarious.

Oh, please. This is so patently false it's laughable. You can very easily avoid the Youtube drama by simply not subscribing to the idiots who get caught up in it themselves (the same way you move right past Bravo when looking through your channel guide). I watch as much Youtube as Netflix and Amazon Prime and there is plenty of great content depending on your interests.

As far as PewDiePie goes, I don't watch him and I don't care if he stays or goes. I do, however, understand the frustrations of content creators when Google so frequently institutes changes with little to no warning which impact their chosen profession. I'm pretty sure we would all feel frustrated if our job's had as much variability. (And I'm sure some of you do have careers in fields that are worse about this with higher stakes.)

I'm sure it's not a publicity stunt, like at all.

I don't hate him, but I get tired of high profile content creators bitching about getting fricked over by YT policies. Everyone gets fricked over in their jobs and most don't make the type of bank he and others do doing what they love. Furthermore, Just because you make money for a company doesn't mean you own it.

I started watching a few of Pewdiepie's videos earlier this year and he was playing a lot of games at the time. I subscribed and enjoyed it.
Then I noticed he completely changed and went straight for drama. He's not as bad as others about it, but he's still drifted completely away from what he used to be. It's not just him though, when I first started really watching gameplay on YouTube and subscribing to people, it was fun with little drama. Then this year it all went downhill.

50,000,000 subscribers...that's an insanely large audience.

And he only gets like 2 million views per video. That's not much relatively.

People are just subscribing to him now so they can say "I'm subscribed to Pewdiepie"

How about Casey Neistat who stopped vlogging (the best on YouTube) and sold his business to CNN. What's going on with these guys?

Still great for niche gaming

Casey Neistat is literally cancer. One of the most unlikable, disgusting people ever.

the problem is, and pewdiepie mentioned it in one of his latest vids, is that his problems are the same for smaller youtube stars. those lower caliber youtube stars are losing views on their newer content the same as pewdiepie. but their decreased views affect them more than it affects pew.

pew is bringing attention to the problem with his name recognition

He didn't delete his channel. He just built that whole thing up to get views. He deleted his alt channel that he doesn't use. That's what I hate about YouTube, just do whatever you can to get views. I know being a YouTuber is about getting views, but I wish they would stick to creating good content and doing it the right way.
