If they want to actually have the option of playing multiple good games immediately then they will want a PS4. If not they will need to wait until Xbox finally decides to do something.

Get the X. Technology is advancing so quickly nowadays, the S will be old school in a couple years. I kept my first Xbox 360 that my dad bought me for like 10 years. Would definitely want to get the best one available so it lasts longer.

Did your kids ASK for an XBOX or just wanted a gaming system.
I do recommend a PS4 over XBOX just based on the current library.
If you do get them a XBOX and they are set on it. The X hands down IF it is in your price range but the S isn't a shtty option.

The X and Pro are both just stop gaps, 2019/2020 both will be outdated and at least PS5 will be out. The S is a good choice considering it has a 4K player and should have pretty good bundles over the holidays, also he doesn't have a 4K TV.
But yes I would see what your kids like first, would go with the PS4 because more and better games.

I don't know the age of your kids. That may help.
But chances are at any age you should get them a PS4. Unless they have friends that play online on xbox already.

Another reason to get a PS4 is that Spiderman will be exclusive to that. Made by Insomniac so expect a good game. Like I said not sure how old your kids are but I would bet that they would want to play that.

They asked for Xbox. This thread is confusing the shite out of me. They will play minecraft, and more arcade type games.

Get the One S. No need to shoot for a One X. Xbox has plenty of games for kids that age. I'm sure Rocket League and Minecraft will be more than enough for them.
