Baseball Simulator was a lot of fun. Some different parks, plus you could rename teams and players and play a long season.

Megaman games are cool but hard.

118 for every single game, you'll go broke trying to build out a big collection.

Not sure why you would buy a NES

There's so many ways to play NES games that don't require purchasing an old console from the 1980s that's probably going to break in a few years (if it's not already broken). Not to mention the state of the cartridges themselves.

I would buy a top loader though if I could find one.

Loved that one.

I believe you had the options of about a 5, 30, 60, or 162 game schedule.

It was also possible to reassign your stats in a way to completely destroy the opposing team in the first inning through how you distributed your batting average, speed, home runs, and any special hits / pitches.

I tried Baseball Simulator 1.000, but couldn't get into it the same way I did Baseball Stars.

Baseball Stars is closer to an RPG since you sign new players and improve their stats.

Simulator lets you set your stats from a base amount per team to customize them.

Mine tended to make the AL all star team from RBI look like chumps in comparison.

The first one is still fun but hard.

The latter is a legitimately shitty game.

I liked Bad News Baseball. Players had skill rankings by position and for speed and arm strength, and if you played a player at the wrong position they would commit errors. It had the Tecmo cutscenes that would occasionally cut in for good plays, close plays, homeruns, and errors.

In fairness, a lot of these games are available on Switch Online.

It sucks playing a classic Nintendo game on a wireless switch remote.

Those old controls responded so crisp. Super Mario 3 and some of the mega man’s probably the best examples of this.

You can buy the Switch compatible version of the original NES controllers directly from Nintendo, but it still doesn't feel the same imo.

Some great titles already mentioned, I'll add Ninja Gaiden 1-3 and Nightmare on Elm Street (I just checked online to see prices, and holy shite... maybe not this one )

My NES still works. My boys love to play Super Mario Bros 3.

If you play Final Fantasy, be aware that half the game doesn't work. By that I mean multiple spells have 0 effect (some even do the opposite) and stats are kind of pointless. And some of the weapons don't work as intended. But past all that it's really fun. And that really isn't sarcasm. I really like playing it.

I didn't see it mentioned but Little League Baseball was always fun. Hawaii and Texas were broken.
