After beating all three games, I moved back to Diablo 3 again. Once I got bored of grinding out another hundred paragon levels, I tried the three games again. New Game Plus got me back on Witcher 3. Kept character level, kept rare ingredients and inventory items that took me over 150 hours to amass on first playthrough, got the chance to make alternative quest choices (actually reunited the Baron and wife on NG+ instead of seeing him swing from a tree), and most importantly- realized that all enemies and gear were scaled up to my level.

I'll admit I was really disgusted and pissed to learn that my Grandmaster crafted Ursine armor was basically rendered obsolete, but then it dawned on me that it would be a blast to go through the process of crafting it all over again.

First playthrough, I invested over 200 hours. I thought I did everything. Second playthrough, I found things that made me say, " what the frick is this place?" and "oh shite, that big fricker didn't used to be in this cave, did it?". Just started third playthrough. It's my personal opinion that NOTHING in the game is more vindicating and gratifying than destroying Master Mirror at the end of B&W expansion. I always do the end of that questline last, after everything else is done, because after it's over everything else just kind of feels a bit stale.

Yeah, GOD is one of my favorite characters of all time.

Heart of Stone, not B&W

Both of the DLC's had their charm and dark humor and were very easily worth the money I spent on them.

I enjoyed Blood and Wine a bit more, but that's probably just because it was essentially almost another game by today's standards. HoS was a bit shorter, but was still brilliant. The party was one of my favorite things in the game.

IDK, I have tried to play Witcher 3 several times and each time I just haven't gotten sucked in. On this current play through I just finished the Bloody Baron quest and the three witches or w/e.. and that was around a month ago, haven't picked it back up since. I really want to like it, but it hasn't sucked me in yet.

Call me crazy but I don't really enjoy the combat very much. It feels really clunky to me. And while I appreciate a great story, if I don't enjoy the combat I have a hard time sticking with a game. ME:A's story was lackluster but the combat was fun and addictive and I put a lot of hours into the game.

Blood and Wine was like Witcher 3.5

Soo much content.

I also found it very clunky and quit my first playthrough before I even got out of White Orchard. Sold it, then a couple months ago saw the Complete Edition for $25 and decided to give it another shot. Combat feels really good to me now and love the game. It's definitely different than other games and takes getting used to, but it works well when you understand the timing and rhythm of it.

I think another issue is that there are a ton of elements to it, and I was a bit overwhelmed my first time at all the skills, blade oils, potions, signs, etc. Once you settle into a groove and find a style you like it becomes a lot easier to manage

Witcher 3 is such an awesome game. My only real big complaint is the length of dialogue.

Agreed. I don't know how many times I was ready to call it a night, or my SO told me I had to be ready to leave for dinner or something at a certain time and I think, "OK, Let me just talk to this person over here real quick and then I'll save..." 10 minutes later the cutscene/dialogue is still going

The bad is that the dialogue is top notch. But fckk is it too long.

Ridiculous.

I stand corrected. I meant to type HoS but typed B&W. I was actually playing when I typed that, running back to the graveyard to meet with Regis on the B&W expansion, so I had the wrong quest line on the brain

ETA: But, to me there's no more visually striking region than Toussaint. That alone makes the B&W expansion worthwhile, especially once you get to spruce up the vineyard home. Kaer Mohren comes close but not quite. I'm a weird gamer that likes a good combination of story, game beauty and medieval fantasy themes. So my favorite two games of all time are Witcher 3 and Dragon's Dogma.

I thought the same thing over the first 10 hours or so but it ended up growing on me after that

Just not doing it right.

It might be the best combat system in any game i've played.

I guess I'll have to give Witcher 3 another shot. I wanted to like it, I just couldn't ever get into it.
