Played the n64 a shitload, Mario party 2 was my favorite game of all time.
How is the newest version for the switch? Thinking of buying it. Have 3 nieces that play Mario kart, want to get them mario party To play with them,
My only reservation is that I played the one for the wii and was not impressed
TIA

The minigames are a lot of fun, but there is not as much variety as in previous entries. The boards are meh to me. Wish they'd go back to 1-8 boards.

Not enough boards and the Golden Pipe is way too OP and can ruin games
The mini games are fun but they just needed more to justify the asking price IMO

If Mario Party 3 on the N64 was a 10, the Switch Mario Party is more of a 5.
The maps are simple and get stale fast. Some of the mini games are pretty fun.
The actual gameplay is so oversimplified that it isn’t really exciting anymore, even will a full crew.
The wife likes playing the movement game and that’s about all we play now, if we play it at all.
I own it, but it really isn’t worth the price, IMO.

The only thing I remember about Mario Party is the amount of family and friend relationships it ended.

It’s nowhere near as fun or captivating as the first 3. The boards suck and the coins are basically meaningless as everyone wins games and the stars are so cheap.
That said, it’s the only game my girlfriend likes so I have that going for me

10 coins makes them too easy to get. The original 20 made it a challenge.
Also, golden pipes are broken.
The original lamp cost 20 coins, so you had to have at least 40 to use it.
The new game is just too simplified to the point it is boring at times.

It is fun, but boards are too small and mini-games not as competitive.
However, it is a step in the right direction. Best Mario Party since MP6.
