looking at how much they are worth and what color they are is generally a good indicator.
typically i only am carrying about 5 guns. my best sniper rifle, rocket launcher, assault rifle, shotgun, and then 2 SMG's of different elemental damage depending on who/what i am fighting.
when you open up your arsenal you can select one weapon, press X, and compare it to similar weapons types. whichever one has the best damage, fire rate, and reload speed i'm keeping. tossing/selling the other unless it has some badass elemental effect and is close in those stats.
that way when i'm only carrying 5-6 weapons. I have 13-15 other slots to pick up weapons along the way to sell later on.

Has anyone not started the "do no harm" side quest on 360? I need to co op that mission with someone, my quest is glitched stuck at talk to tannis. hourlywage on xbl.

keep some of the shite I gave you.
Get rid of the shite you had.
If it's blue or purple, keep. If it's white definitely get rid of it.
If it is green, see what it does and then decide.
Try to keep at least one corrosion gun, one explosion, one fire, and a shock.
You'll be good.

I just got this orange SMG that does 680 damage but it also explodes like a grenade when you reload. The thing is the reload time is next to instant so I just pop a burst off then throw it and its already in my hands before my other gun explodes... bad motherfricking gun.

33 almost 34, the gun is a lvl 32.
The thing that sucks now is guns are basically outdated after 2 levels, otherwise they just don't do that much damage (save the really badass guns) to bandits in the later levels. Sucks because I am having to get rid of lev 30 purples I just got.

Well in this game you can essentially share loot amongst your characters. Which is awesome. I have a jakobs pistol which is the absolute shite.
