Also, weapon unlocks seem to be universal. Once you unlcock the M416, you can use it on both the US or Russian sides. I think.

To unlock certain weapons, you have to be using the kit that weapon is on.
Does that make sense?

I think that's what it's called. It's the radio thing that comes default with the recon kit.

See. I wasn't aware that certain weapons could be used in multiple kits.

Yeah, once you unlock you can use it on either side and on all the kits. At least that's how it's worked so far.

When is the release date? The 25th?

Yeah... I want to see what the rest of this game is about, and I think with some party issues fixed it can be a damn good time.

i'm really debating on getting MW3 now. If i do, it may only be for the single player. I played BF3 last night for 2 hours alone.
also, how many fricking RPG's do you start with? Seemed like this one guy was shooting them non-stop last night without dying :OMA:

Not me...Sometimes I like to be a medic, but I'd also like to defend myself with my most comfortable weapon and it might not be the M16.

Then earn that weapon by killing someone that has it.

Two interesting tidbits from BF3blog.
In-game Squad Management
Battlefield players were quite upset over news that Battlefield 3 squad management was moved to Battlelog, forcing players to switch between the game and Battlelog in order to manage squads.
Luckily however, there are now some good news: DICE’s Barrie Tingle has posted on the Battlelog forums where he revealed that squad management will be available in-game in Battlefield 3. Tingle said, in an answer to a question regarding squads:
“In short answer form, yes you can browse and join squads through the squad screen and make private squads.”
The new in-game squad management won’t be updated into the beta, but will be available in the final game.
BF3 to Steam?
According to an anonymous report BF3Blog received from inside Valve, the developer/publisher is currently in late-stage talks with EA in bringing Battlefield 3 to the Steam digital distribution service. The rumor says that Battlefield 3 would be available on Steam just in time for the game’s release on October 25.
According to the report, EA and Valve are very close to reaching an agreement regarding sales of DLC content, which is the main reason Battlefield 3 is not on Steam: Valve requires that all DLC is sold through Steam, while EA would prefer to sell via its own channels. This was the cause of another EA title, Crysis 2, for being pulled from Steam earlier this year.
Many PC gamers have lobbied both EA and Valve to put Battlefield 3 on Steam for a while now. It looks like it’ll finally happen soon.
We’ve reached out to EA and Valve for a comment on this story.

Not sure if the squad management stuff was going to be an issue with console players.

And I think you get 6 rockets or SMAWs or whatever to start. You would think more people would spam with those.

That's interesting. At least to me, the COD campaigns were too linear and repetitive to get in to. I don't think I got past mission 1 in BLOPS.
