The tension when you run across another wastelander is going to be great.

Posted the entire Fallout 76 presentation in the OP.

i thought I heard dozens too.
the most angry bunch on the fallout subs are all quoting todd howard word for word when whining and they always use "dozens" when describing how this game will violate them

I can't wait to violate them with a nuke

in theory, unless they make "safe zones", people are going to camp the fallout76 exit vault and just mow down noobs with a mini gun as they exit the first week.
once again though, griefers wont keep griefing unless there is some kind of reward. currency, resources, cosmetic, in game notoriety, control over land, etc

I'd like to think there will be "tutorial period" where you learn the mechanics, leave the vault, and maybe find your first settlement before being opened to attacks. Would be a gross oversight if not.

yea, has to be.
the lack of human NPCs is a bit concerning. I know the overseer gives tasks but that's just a recording. and probably will be based on building and resource development.

This is so not true

Yeah he does. But again, if the world is going to be as big as they say it is and it would only be 11 other players running around, could possibly not see another person ever, and what's the point? I know some will like that, sure, but that's not the point of this game.
It's really going to depend on how this game operates. Will being open to invasions and attacks be optional, like Peaceful mode in Minecraft?
What I'm curious about is are you going to be with the same group of players every time you log on? Like, me and my crew take out a settlement, and the next time we log on, we aren't even in the same game as the guys we took down so, so really that just makes the game a multiplayer shooter. If they address this, please correct me. Still need to watch the entire presentation.

Did they say no NPC's at all? I know everyone in the vault will be another player, but they'll need quest givers, right? 7 Days to Die, there's NPC's manning the trading outposts.

with small server pops, the opportunity to do such wont be as often I expect
time will be better spent collecting resources and killing mobs and hunting for guns
I get what you are saying though. people do enjoy causing others misery. I just expect the novelty of doing it will wear off quick

I dont see this happening at all. Can you imagine if you farmed up launch codes and somebody swapped to peaceful right before you launched a nuke at their base?

I also dont see being with the same group of players every time you log on. I would say this game is most likely going to be be Conan/Ark/Rust. You will be able to save your settlements in those C.A.M.P.S and when you spawn on a new server you will be able to pop it out.

Bethesda official posted on twitter "every human you meet will be a real person"
so speculation is that it means no human NPCs.

Well, you don't have to make it 1:1 how minecraft does it
But if you'll have the option to solo, I'd argue it's only logical to have it where you can avoid being attacked as well. If you want to make this a building/collecting sim, have at it.
