Been out of the gaming business a while. Kids seem to only
....respect one thing:

For some reason kids these days respect a man that beat Tyson on NES back in the day.

I did.

The sad part about most games these days is cutscenes are a reward and not a continuation of the game. Animation (prerendered or not) department is paid ungodly amounts of money to make these beautiful graphics and cutscenes, but then the game, story, soundtrack, thematic elements, level design and characters all fall short.

And on top of that, even the consoles can’t keep up with the software that’s being released. Just Cause 3 came out years ago. You try playing that on ANY console, pro version or not, in a very action heavy environment and your system will break.

most games today are basically interactive movies.

I did it. I beat him.

The key was to get past the first round, and the key to doing that was to repeat the fight over and over until you internalized the thing he did with his eyes right before he threw the one-shot uppercuts so that when it happened your fingers would hit dodge without you even having to think about it. If you had to think about it, you couldn’t be fast enough.

God, NES games fricking ruled.

Cut scenes are the worst thing about single player video games. I fricking hate sitting through them, which is why I don't play too many of them

I beat him a bunch myself. I never owned the game myself, I guess because I was always able to borrow it from someone.

I still rank the night I beat Zelda II as one of the greatest accomplishments of my life.
