The moves with the dog really begin to synergize more with your own kit the further you get into the game, which actually fits the story thematically at least from what I can tell is going on. I’m at the point the I’m zipping all around the room with my magic hair because my moves are sprouting flowers and I usually open with him lifting enemies into the air and then just do a huge combo aerial style lol
It took my a while to figure this out but perfect dodges do not give any FP or add to your bar, they can however like parry’s do an immediate r1 attack to close distance
Which one is the mountain chapter 3?
I’m off and the wife’s at work so I’m working my way through this thing. The maps are perfectly sized imo and the dog icon tags anything of importance if you get within a wide range so you can get most everything.
And while you do face some boss repeats they always have different moves added to them, there is at least one two on one probably more.

On chapter 7 still loving the game a ton. Tip make the game way better go into the settings and then turn off all the auto targets except aim assist, turn the camera sensitivity up 3 notches and aim speed the same.
Turn motion blur all the way down to 0 as well as camera shake.
This greatly improves the experience when fighting in situations where you’re against multiple enemies or big mobs

Spoilers obviously for anyone who cares but seems like most have given up on the game. Captured the final boss on my second try beating him if anyone is interested in the fight or needs help if they get stuck on hard.
It’s by far the best designed boss in the game
Normal probably isn’t too bad

I'm 14 hrs in and just started chapter 2. Pretty fun game. I dipped out for a bit to play the Mortal Shell 2 demo. That game is phenomenal. Can't wait until it comes out next week. I bought the deluxe version to get it early.

My only kind of minor complaint is once you reach a certain chapter which is where you catch up in time the in media res opening of the game before going backwards 5 months, they aren’t “chapters” anymore. They’re mostly just big awesome set pieces and much shorter
But they were really awesome still and the game does a great job at making you feel the urgency so it don’t feel out of place you’re a woman on a mission now and picking eggs in the open world lol

First patch just went live
People seem to be pleased with it and it addressing a bunch of issues people had with the game. If you had things that bothered you about it check the patch notes they could likely be fixed.
Biggest thing I notice immediately is the camera is way better

Im at the second Taurus boss fight and it's really ticking me off. Starts off as a gank fight and then they add a second phase. This boss has infuriated me. Hes always running away from you and when he does you can't attack with your bow because he's always throwing stuff at you.

I beat him yesterday. Agree that the mob at the beginning is super annoying. My recommendation:
Take the mob out first using your full arsenal. Try to do this without having to use one of your heals. Keep trying until you can get to the boss solo with all your heals then go from there.
After that the it's all about parrying his close attacks and projectiles. Its so difficult to hit him so you have to learn when you can

That boss is fricking annoying as hell because he runs around the whole time. You really only have time to get a full combo off if you enter slow time with max gauge of at least 5 bars
What I did is just stand and let him come to me. He will throw rocks at you parry them, he will come to do a four hit comno and run away parry them.
While doing this youre raising your combo bar and constantly filling the dogs bar so he will be dishing out move after move.
Eventually the dog + fire arrows and bolts with fill his stagger meter
This is when you unload a full Sakura combo (cant remember if you have the finisher yet at this boss) so its R1 R1 R1 R1 Square Sqaure if you have the finisher ad another square.
This is a status effect nuetral combo but is the strongest pure damage in the entire game

Okay so I just finished Chapter 6.
It is ridiculously lazy how in the last two acts they have reused bosses from earlier in the game. I totally understand and even like when games rehash bosses in optional areas later but to have Act bosses be the same ones as earlier Acts is just so freaking lazy. If you make a game of 13 Acts then make 13 different bosses. The Chapter 5 AND Chapter 6 final bosses were the same ones used in earlier chapters.... Two in a row
Combat is very fun when everything clicks.

It all makes sense in context of the story.
It may annoy you at times I get it but if you pay attention to the story which to be clear I didn’t understand really all too well until you hit the point where the game goes total gas to the pedal for multiple set pieces then yhe final boss.
As I said once you catch up in time to the games in media res opening from that point on they still have chapters but the big open worlds are gone.
It’s much tinier maps with minimal things to find to facilitate a much more linear 3rd act that’s got some really neat set pieces but some people doubtless won’t like this because it dramatically cuts down the total games run time. Like that should matter for some reason
You get a lot of retroactive clarity on the game and as I said it is very much justified in the story

Finished it... last boss was the most fun and best. I thought that last phase was going to do me in until I saw how it was set up.
Thoughts overall:
Good:
1. Combat is a ton of fun when you get the hang of it
2. System is great to learn
3. Game was very pretty on my setup
Bad:
1. The cutscenes. This alone is why I probably would not recommend this game to someone. All they have to do is offer the ability to skip through the just terrible cutscenes. The worst part? You literally can skip some things, so they chose not to let you do so on others. The story is so terrible that they literally make you watch them because they know you wouldn't choose to.
2. Bosses are fun but they reused them time and time again so that there really are only like 6-7 bosses.
3. Enemy variety is just pathetic. I doubt there are more than 10 spread out throughout the game.
So many easy fixes could have made this a very very good game.

My thoughts exactly. The cutscenes after boss fights drag on and the lack of enemy variety is pathetic for a game in 2026.
