It is Larian Studios’ biggest production ever and will be playable together with friends or as a single-player adventure.

Been waiting a long time for this, and they couldn’t have picked a better dev team. Let the hype begin!

I played the crap out of the first one on PC when I was a kid. I don't think I ever finished it. I think I got to the big fight under Baldur's Gate but couldn't beat it. I definitely need to go back and finish. Such a time consuming game though.

I’m not a huge fan of the Enhanced Editions, but one nice thing about them is they have a story mode you can activate that basically keep you from dying if you come across s difficult portion and you just want to move the story forward.

Details from Reddit...

In the trailer, dude was a mindflayer and in the background was their ship that travels between planes.

Not 100% sure if this will release in 2019. Stadia claims BG3 is a launch title (November), but reports are conflicting. Possibly a timed exclusive?

Available on Stadia, GOG and Steam.

Not a direct sequel to the Bhaalspawn trilogy. BG3 takes place about a century after Throne of Bhaal.

Still a party-based system.

No word on turn-based vs real-time with pause.

Multiplayer confirmed.

AD&D 5E ruleset.

Isometric not confirmed or ruled out yet.

Missable content based on choices.

Yes...and no. Their "leaders" are what they call "elder brains" which are Illithid who have grown so ancient that they've literally merged minds with others that have survived that long.

Think of it as a more disgusting version of the Zerg Overmind.

I’m curious how the 5e ruleset will translate to a cRPG. As far as I know, it hasn’t been used before?

Given that Larian's most successful games are TBS, I wonder what direction they will go with for this game.

I never got a chance to play the original Baldur's gate games when they were new, but Larian is a great choice and I'm now a 100% sure going to buy this game. Original Sin 2 was one of the best games I've played in a decade.

Prequel to Baulders Gate 3 will be a DnD 5e module

Pretty sweet to see that tbe back story / build up to the most anticipated RPG will be consumable by a full on DnD story.

When they announced this module it sounded great. Now with this info it makes me want to run it more. Sadly I'm running my group through a Dragonheist I've modified to go to level 13-14 and they're just about to hit level 4 so probably won't be able to get to it in time.

I'm wondering when we will see the first video game set in Exandria (Critical Role campaign setting) now that it's an official 5e module as well.

Well didn't the kickstarter for a ~6 cartoon episodes break the all-time kickstarter record? Depending on how that project goes they'll decide if they want to make more.
