There is a lot of saving and reloading.

Around lvl 4 you will start to feel powerful. Until then, tread carefully

Yeah, I made it to level 3, but my team and I keep getting smoked. I’m going to venture out to find some more quests, but I feel like I’m confined to one area.

Thanks. That seems like all there is to do right now, but I may be missing something. Where should I go?

Have you uncovered the entire map (for Act 1) yet? It’s likely bigger than you think.

No, I don’t think so. Maybe 60-70%. I will probably go find that Hag again and do her story. I think I’m just wandering into the wrong situations. I came across some undead by some ruins and they beat the living shite out of us.

We are struggling to get through the ground floor portion of the Moontower assault to kill Thorm. We’ve gotten close but this Hunger of Hadar bullshite is really fricking us up

Don’t go in the main entrance. Go around the left side and take small fights to make the main room easier.

Roam around and find all the quests and enemies to kill that you can. One strategy is to get exp from doing some sort of diplomacy then kill things afterward (if the story allows), this allows you to get a little bonus exp which can help you out.

I'm a sidequest whore (I enjoy doing as many of them as possible before proceeding with the primary line), it helped me tremendously in getting through the primary storyline fights.

One of my favorite little pleasures in Dark Souls 1 is to sequence break and then come back later and wreck Capra and his bitch arse dogs

Great suggestion. We did this and took out the enemies in the back room first while the locals got destroyed in the main room lol. Then we cleaned up the rest. We've started using ice spells more when fighting rooms with a ton of enemies and it usually does a good job in managing the situation. We cleared out the prison area afterwards and are trying to get prepped for the fight with Thorm which hopefully we can do early this week.

Finally beat the Hag after two days. I put everyone into “Hide” to sneak, and somehow she only locked in on 3 of my team. I walked up freely as if I was just exploring and pushed her arse off the bridge I just went down some well in town and I’m going to clear the before going back to the Goblin Camp

The reward for killing the Hag the normal way is worth the effort.

This game will definitely get several play throughs from me. I cleared out 90% of the Goblin Camp (about to make my way out), but when I found Halsin, he was dead. Not sure where I explored to mess that up. Having a blast though. I don’t feel as weak as I did.

My trick for killing her is magic missile (split each bolt to a different clone) and… killing* that bitch as quickly as possible

It’s a fight that can get out of hand very quickly.

Eta: Not actually killing. Gimme that point.
