Atomfall is the Fallout game we all needed

Granted I'm only a few hours in to Shadows, but so far it feels like a very different experience than precious AC entries. So like I've said before, a lot of the times the "more of the same" comments seems to come from someone who's already made up their mind about the game. Then a few days later he puts out the "I played Tsushima again" video, seemingly just to dig into Shadows even more. Forgetting that Tsushima built on a lot of the open world concepts that AC games has been doing for years.

Back to the game, I'd love for this to be a good Fallout standing until we get a new one in 2050, but my recent experience with this type of games is I'll eventually just want to play fallout again and I'll fire up 4. But maybe this will deliver.

Did you understand his reasons for saying that? He is very clear, and his point are hard to argue with.

I think you have your mind made up about him. Maybe because he didn't like a game that you needed him to like because the right-wingers also disliked it. . .or some such.

The guy disliked Outlaws and Veilguard. Guess what? So did gamers. You have to let that shite go.

Found a reddit thread that compiled reviews. Overall theme is it is good, not great. Nails the England aesthetic. Great exploration but other things like combat and stealth aren't that well done.

Exploration, story, and narrative are stellar

Combat is not bad, but AI is pretty bad. Made by the people who make the Sniper Elite series, so that explains the AI

Matty previewed the game and gave a poor review. Once he got his hands on it, it changed his mind.

The 1st 5 minutes are the things he didn't like about it. . .just to get them out of the way.

I’ve seen a lot of good things, I’m gonna get it once I catch up on my backlog a bit. The combat looks pretty bad, but every single person said it just nails the exploration and discovery aspect which I’ve been in the mood for as of late

Maybe I'm missing something, but I've enjoyed the AI from the sniper elite series. While they could probably do a better job of having small group tactics, they tend to be quick about searching, and you don't have the Skyrim "must have been the wind" next to a dead body jank.

I've seen a few reviews stating they wished people would stop comparing it to Fallout because it is nothing like Fallout. It is an investigation game at heart and it is very short. Neither being anything like Fallout.
