it's a bethesda game.... weren't all of their future games microsoft exlusives now?

Microsoft announced when they first bought Bethesda that ES6 was gonna be a Xbox/PC exclusive. They also said they would honor contracts already in place for future releases so I'm guessing there was already some deal for Fallout 5 to be on Playstation. We have not heard anything about that game yet but its also 8-10 years away.

I'd like to see how man Game Pass players paid the $30 for the early access/first story expansion. I definitely did.

Maybe some of us understand that if we want internal financial numbers from one company we don't get them from a competitor company.

That was a filing in an FTC trial. You are a complete idiot if you don't think those numbers are legitimate. Microsoft would have no reason to submit a filing in that trial that shows them with a better profit margin than Sony.

Bro just buy a fricking xbox to play it if you're mad about the exclusivity

If you really don't like Bethesda, why do you feel the need to crusade for others to not like it?

I was excited about Elder Scrolls 6. Then I played BG3 and witnessed a mediocre Starfield. I’m less excited for Elder Scrolls 6 and find no reason to be in a rush to play it for 2 reasons:

1.) Because it will be awhile before it releases.

2.) After it releases it will be awhile before it’s fixed and is a good game thanks to the modders.

Bonus*

3.) Will cost like $10 by the time they release it a 4th time in as many years.

I'll build another gaming pc before I buy another Xbox. FTMF. They lost me forever with the shitty Xbox 1 and MCC failed release.

I'm also assuming cloud gaming will be viable by the time ES6 finally comes out.

Light isn't fast enough. Maybe the heavy weed users won't notice, but it's a hard pass for me.

I have no sympathy for Sony. They did this to themselves.

Why do y’all keep parroting this? Let’s not act like this hasn’t been a cyclical thing with both companies for all of time

Look at the 360 era - the most dominant that any console has been over another. MS threw serious money around for exclusive deals. GTA IV had timed DLC that they paid $50M for. Mass effect was a paid timed exclusive. Bioshock was a paid timed exclusive. COD had timed DLC. Alan Wake paid exclusive. Oblivion timed exclusive. All those plus many others, as well as marketing rights to a ton games that era.

Y’all act the PS4 bodying the One was done via violation of the Paris Peace Accords and that Sony used all these dirty tactics. Both companies have employed the same methods since the beginning of time and they will continue to do so lol

Why does a company submitting a document to the FTC give that company inside information about another company's financials?

Think about what you're saying here.

No, both companies have not used the same tactics Sony is currently employing. Sony knows this, and that's why they opposed the Activision deal so hard. They know they cannot compete with Microsoft if Microsoft decides to purchase companies.

Unfortunately, that's the only way Microsoft can compete with Sony's exclusivity strategy. Because Sony is the market leader, it would cost Microsoft a lot more to purchase exclusivity of a third party game than it costs Sony. It makes more sense for Microsoft to purchase a company than to pay for exclusivity, because they aren't just getting exclusivity they are also getting assets.

Yes, Sony is the reason these deals are happening. They forced Microsoft to find a way to compete with them, so Microsoft did that.

What I'm saying is the truth. Why do you think it is difficult to find the financial statements of publicly traded companies? Are you seriously suggesting that a company the size of Microsoft wouldn't be able to hire CPAs who can derive this information from publicly-available documents?

...by slowly creating a monopoly...

imagine how much a sky scream this kid would have if the roles were reversed and Sony had enough money to purchase:

Bethesda
Activision
Take Two
EA
Ubisoft

Sony goes out an buys a developer (Bungie).

Microsoft gets offended and buys a whole publisher... because that's "fair".
