My buddy wasn't on last night (usually us two and a random) so I had to play with randoms. Only one time did anybody have a mic. Of course this guy is jumpmaster and jumps immediately off the bus, botched the landing so we're 100 meters short of the building and we get destroyed with no weapons. Turned it off after that. Weird because the first few days I played it seemed like about 75% of the people not only had a mic but were helpful. They'd say "you're gonna want this attachment if you have a shotgun" and ping a precision choke or something.

got my first win last night too. got carried hard by 2 guys that clearly knew what they were doing. got revived once, respawned once. i was dead when they won it.

I agree. People that don’t use mics in squad games like this are essentially throwing the game. I’m at the point where I’m just going to back out if I’m stuck with 2 tards that won’t put a mic in.
Since I made this post I’ve played 8 different games with no one talking but me. Yea frick that, if no else has mics I’m dipping out.

Respawn did a great job with every aspect of the game as a whole minus a few minor quirks I don't like, but those quirks are just from me being a heavy pubg player (like ttk, head Bob, etc)

Your ping doesn’t give me information like how many enemies are there, what legends exactly, if you threw an air strike or they did, or how do you want to engage them. It just tells me something might be there.

I get that, but when all the person does is ping, in my mind, that means attack. So I go and attack, get knocked and possibly eliminated. Only to find out that my teammates are nowhere to be found.
A mic can better prepare teams on how to attack. Using just the ping system doesn’t allow that. You know-it-all frick tards are delusional thinking the ping system is good enough to replace real voice communication.
How do you guys think the Twitch Rivals tournament would’ve went, or even today’s Code Red tournament, if none of the players used discord to communicate? It would’ve been a fricking nightmare.

Obviously free communication is optimal...when done correctly, but at the same time not everyone knows how to communicate effectively and just fills the moment with unnecessary noise.
I've played with people that I wish they didn't have a mic at all because all they did was spout out useless information like "Over here!" "The building!" and "He's shooting at me!"
You can say mics are better until your face is blue, but you'll never convince me this pinging system is a bad thing. I've gotten way more information where I would have otherwise gotten next to none in this game because of it.

I didn’t explain my pov very (no sarcasm). The ping system is great when used IN ADDITION to voice communication. When I scream, “OVER HERE!!!”, I’m gonna ping where “OVER HERE!!!” is located. And give you the low down on the situation.
