Anywhere I can buy a brand new PS4 at its regular price?

I tried Best Buy, Walmart, and different websites but they are sold out. My son’s birthday is coming up soon and we sold his Nintendo switch because he wants to play call of duty and other shooting games. He hates that Nintendo switch didn’t have any cool shooting games. I thought for sure it would be easy since everybody is trying to get ps5. I know people are reselling them but I don’t want to pay the same price as a ps5 like I have seen others selling them for.

I can’t believe how hard to find/expensive the Pros have become.
I don’t need to upgrade from base until Elden Ring and I’d take either a 4Pro or a 5.

perhaps he should reconsider buying a 10 year old console. that is essentially obsolete. a brand new one cost $300. might as well increase the budget $200 and get the latest and greatest.
is he really gonna spend $300 this year new PS4 and $500 next year for a PS5 for a total $800 investment? or would it be smart to just spend $500 and be done for 10 years?
he said his kid wants to play shooters like CoD. CoD: Vanguard might be the last title to release on the PS4. PS5 is the smartest investment and if he has to wait until christmas to do it, so be it.
better get a gamestop rewards pro membership for $15 since that appears to be the best way to get one right now.

I've got a PS4 Pro just sitting in a box in my office. I packaged it up since getting the PS5 so if you're interested, I'd be willing to sell it.

PS4s are obsolete, and no longer being produced, so you’ll probably spend a lot more than it’s worth if you manage to find one for sale. Just buy a PS5.

i suggest driving the night before to see the line and then again in the morning. like between 5-7. no one knows how many they're expecting. it probably wouldn't hurt to go in the store and talk to a manager to see if he'll confirm the drop for you.

i also can't stress this enough. if you want to get one bad enough, you're going to have to work for it. you can't get discouraged when it doesn't go you're way at first.
the PS5 released last october/november and are considered rare due to checkout bots and hardware shortages that make up the consoles and computers. they were the #1 requested gift for the holidays in 2020 and will probably be #1 again this year. you're going to have to follow the 2 twitter accounts in my PS5 thread with notifications turned on.
you're going to be constantly tracking twitter. even discord stock servers. you're going to go crazy tracking these these things down.
i found 3 before christmas last year.
1 for me
1 for a friend
1 for a friend's kid
i've found 2 this year for friends. it's not out of the realm of possibility to find one between now and christmas or perhaps a birthday if it's in a month or 2.
again, if you're serious about getting one and you want to try your local BB for thursday, you need to drive by, probably around 10pm the night before, and study the line. wouldn't even hurt to get out and get any information you can. will they be handing out vouchers that will guarantee you a console? who knows. get there early and stay all night if you have to.
i got lucky at a walmart drop last year where i showed up in line at 6am and was 13/20. people ahead of me had been there since midnight.
people here complain about the difficulty, but i have a feeling they're not willing to stand out in 20-40 degree weather for 6-8 hours and having their phones constantly dinging with twitter notifications.
