Hell if I know. I got into the 600+ league on the 11th after a full diamond team quit after 1 inning. Hit 3 homers and struck him out 3 in a row

Finally got a PS4/MLB The Show 17 a few weeks ago. I've played the PS3 versions through MLB 16 but the PS3 finally died after a good 8 year run with my purchased-used fatboy.
I haven't touched Diamond Dynasty since the mode was created, but always do a Braves franchise with operation sports full minors rosters and a Fantasy Draft franchise which I never end up doing much with as I never seem to like the final roster makeup of the drafted team.
This year I picked the Astros to do a fantasy draft with and ended up with the following roster (this is going to be a lot of fun):
C - AJ Jimenez/Austin Hedges
1B - Morneau/Ryon Healy
2B - Moncada/Ian Happ
SS - Correa
3B - Bryant/Gallo
LF - Schwarber/Buxton
CF - Blackmon
RF - Judge
My pitching selections suffered a bit but I got a lot of young high potential power pitchers.

I finished last season 38-25
I've started off this one 6-8
I'm losing to teams I shouldn't be, I can't pitch for shite, I can't hit for shite
I'm in a huge slump and don't know how to bust out of it
Any advice?

shite I just had my 3rd baseman (Justin Turner) upgraded from gold to diamond I'm assuming today.

I caved and bought this. I bought MLB 14 show six months ago for like $3 I enjoyed it but the menus were a bit clunky.
I just play Franchise and it's pretty fun. It's easier to trade for big names than I remember. I started as the Rockies. Dealt a couple of prospects (one with A potential, the other two were going to be meh players) for Sonny Gray. Also got Will Myers for practically nothing.
The Dodgers wreck shop.

I really regret being in the LAD division.
Idk if it's the roster I downloaded might've had a Dodger bias or if they're really just that good. They win 110 every year and flirted with 120 in year 4.

Won't be on much for the next ten days until I move, but just in time for the stretch of the season.
Played some games last week and good God hitting is still atrocious.
Also butt hurt I am missing this event. So many stubs to be made.

Questions on directional hitting...how necessary is it to use the L stick in order to get base hits? Can you still hit good if you are good on your timing and just hit the X button at the right time?

If you want to maximize how well you hit then take it off directional and use zone hitting like a real man
