I really haven't played AC since the first 2 for the 360.

PSN has all the AC Origins for 50% off and was wondering if its worth it? I watched the trailers for the DLCs and it looks interesting.

Is it a Yay or Nay?

Story was boring, but exploring Egypt made my dick hard. 8/10

It’s a fun game. Gets slightly repetitive after a while, but Egypt is beautiful and it’s a blast to explore.

I liked Bayek and the story was passable. Very interesting side missions. Supposedly Bayek has more of a voice in the DLC.

I’m in the camp that origins was probably by game of the year.

I downloaded it to play overseas on PC since you can play it offline. It is easily one of, if not the best, of the series. I was a huge fan of Black Flag, and Origins gave me that same feeling but didn’t conflict since it was two completely different subjects.

It is the best of the series.

Anything in Egypt is awesome. Ubisoft did a good job bringing ancient Egypt to life.

I want to visit Siwa now.

Assassin's Creed 2 with this gameplay would be GOAT.

Having a lot of fun with Origins. I unlocked a unicorn mount that shoots out rainbows from it's hooves as it's walking. Pretty much the best thing ever.

True. The story is the weakest area.

I miss Eden shtt. I know we have a little in this game but it's just messages.

I don't know. I'm not super far in, only level 18, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Not saying the story sucks. It is just the weakest part.

The game for me was about exploration. I'm lvl45. Whatever the max is for DLC. This is the only game besides FO4 I've 100% (before the 1st DLC).

It is a really fun game. I have theroies about simulations but won't spoil.

Will Siwa never know peace? I will go to the Saragina Camp to learn if there is any truth to this letter

Of course it is worth it. I have my problems with it, but It's one of the better games to come out in 2017.

What are your problems with it?

Problems is a strong word in this case.

I felt that with this being the origin story of the Assassin's Brotherhood, they had the opportunity to tell a really interesting story. The story in this game though barely exists.

There's relatively next to no interaction with the First Civilization despite the fact that exploring the Pyramids would be the perfect place to expand upon the lore of that world.

The modern day story is playable this time, but it's more pointless than it has ever been. You're confined to a tiny brown cave the entire time, and there's relatively little to see or do beyond just breaking up chapters in the main game.

I realize that technically speaking you aren't an assassin (at least not until the tail end of the game), but in this game you feel least like an assassin than maybe any game before it. The last couple of villains you fight are borderline gladiatorial arena battles. The end of the game does have you assassinate an important historical figure but it feels more like an interactive cutscene than a real mission in the game.

That being said, what story is there is about Aya. Not to spoil anything, but she is the true driving force behind the plot whereas Bayek is a side character.

I'm also still not the biggest fan of the pseudo-RPG elements they are shoehorning into the "next gen" AC games starting with AC Unity. I just think it's dumb that the exact same guard in one area can one shot kill you whereas another area you can do the same to him. It limits exploration when you're in an area that the game dictates as not valid for your current level and also locks many of the games best skills and abilities behind a skill tree whereas the old games simply gave you access to everything from the start or at the very least organically unlocked abilities based on where you were in the story.

Side activities in earlier AC games were never what I would call "great," but Origins tries to mirror Witcher 3 with each side mission being it's own little quest with a storyline, only most of the side missions are boring, unmemorable fetch quests.

I will reply more when I get infront a keyboard which isn't a work computer.

But the origin of the brotherhood in this form is not the same as the brotherhood protecting the knowledge in later time. We did sort of explore it but imo it is almost confirmation we are in a 3 layer simulation.

Edt: Thanks for the reply. Im really interested in discussing. I tried to back in December but only recieved next to nothing.

Dude when they released the tour mode I spent an entire day high as a kite on the couch going through all the tours.

It's amazing how they added such a fantastic learning tool into a video game.

Just Googled this and it blew my mind. Never would have thought about that

Tell us your thoughts.

Did you unravel the mystery of how they built the pyramids?

Well. The great pyramids were really just giant batteries that powered lower Egypt. Duh. The long tailed lizard people helped build it in 2 days.

Common knowledge.
