re: Anyone picking up Black Myth Wukong? Haven’t seen any chatter here for it

I’m saying the information is completely unrelated to the region release times. The only purpose for adding it is to provoke discord. It’s like tuning in for the daily weather report to learn climate change killed a puppy.

That’s the kind of information I would expect to see as an addendum to basically every bit of news going forward. News media really doesn’t like it when people try to frick with them, right or wrong.

need this to release so I can see some real gameplay

I’m not going to link you the articles I was speaking of. You can easily find it I’ve already told you the authors name and outlet ITT. Also it’s because you won’t think there’s anything wrong with talking about how apparently the devs are sexist women haters in a video game review. Also, what possibly gave you the impression I’m offended? I love watching the dying games Journalism industry step on their dicks and spike the sell of games into the stratosphere with some spite buying 2-3 copies. At least that’s what happened with legacy. I don’t expect the same explosion here since HP is one rh e largest IPs in the world but I’ve already posted data showing there is in fact been a massive explosion in sales
ETA: Sorry didn’t read your most recent post before I replied. Another question. How did the devs of this game “frick with them.” If anything they were the victims a maybe 6-8 months back of a hilariously failed attempt at firing up a hate campaign

I posted in the prior page more or less what every single respectable video game personality or reviewer who got a code has said in near unanimous fashion. I’m not playing on pc I have it ready for ps5 which doesn’t seem to have the performance issues pc does. I’m very excited for it.

Took you a lot longer to type that than it would have to just link the article.

You aren’t looking for a conversation; you’re looking for a fight. See above. This game isn’t important enough me to justify the time I would spend

Be careful... he'll downvote you.

I’m not looking for a fight
if you were truly interested you could’ve googled Rebecca Valentine IGN Black Myth Wukong instead of waiting for me to log into TD. It would’ve taken you far less time than again waiting for me to log in
And I was honestly curious about how you felt the IGN and the Gamer specifically somehow were singled out and fricked with. I guess you don’t wanna explain it though. I also agreed with your statement that their number one goal doing these is things (except for imo Hogwarts) is to drum up hate click because add revenue is so bad. But they are all political activist at least incthe very main stream game journalism field and they do want to push politics for political gain. Or what they perceive will be. I just found it extremely weird they chose this game for it from the beginning.

I’ve downvoted probably 5 posts since I’ve joined in 2012. Don’t see the purpose it. So it’s not only me that doesn’t much approve of your ideas but still makes all attempts to remain cordial. There’s another apparently. Go through the past few days of any post disagreeing with me, being rude, etc and see if any of them have any downvotes. It’ll be a fun game. Weird flex

I’m not saying they were fricked with in particular; media tends to circle the wagons and lash out at anything they view as a challenge to them. The gaming hardware tech media does the same thing when a reviewer gets conditions for a review, gets threatened for focusing on the wrong things, etc. HWUB brought Nvidia to its knees when they were still quite small because Nvidia threatened them over their not spending enough time focusing on RT performance in their benchmarks, just as one example.

Except that time spent waiting isn’t time spent doing, so it’s not particularly relevant. And I asked for a link so that I wasn’t wading through articles trying to make sure it was the one you were referencing, not one that had come out subsequently. But this is the last time I’ll address that particular issue. Going back and forth over it is silly.

Black Myth preloads smash through steams all time bandwidth records, beating the previous holder Cyberpunk 2077 thought to be unbreakable peak. Currently 70 terabytes are being downloaded every single second. Cyberpunks peak was 51 TB.

I know you want to credit/blame the “woke” articles, but don’t you think it’s more likely that this is simply extremely popular in China? Who, for the record, I can’t imagine spend much time reading IGN.
For context, this Reddit thread was posted to make the exact comparison you are: LINK
If you look at the images, BM does outstrip CP2077. However, for BM 56Tb/s of the total 68Tb/s are out of Asia. By comparison, only 9Tb/s of the 24Tb/s snapshotted in that post are from Asia. That’s 80% Asia vs 38% Asia. I’m on my phone, so I’m not inclined to go digging for CP’s peak, but I imagine it would be a similar ratio.
Posted on 8/19/24 at 5:37 pm to Joshjrn
I’m sure you’re absolutely dead right about the Asia thing. I don’t disagree with it at all. So no I don’t just want to blame to blame everything on “woke IGN.” However they do have video games in China not made in China and CP2077 was the most hyped game of all time. Imo it still holds that title. So I don’t believe it being a China made mass appeal AAA game which is rare for that country consist of enough unique Chinese people buying into it that wouldn’t have also possibly been just as interested in CP2077 to make up that 19 TB difference.
But mostly I just think it’s hilarious no matter if IGN and the gamer had any hand in changing the sales of the game one bit. The optics of it alone are a win for the change I want to see in the industry.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying. Even in that half-peak CP2077 snapshot, over 10Tb/s was coming out of North America while only 7Tb/s is coming out of North America for that peak BM snapshot.
You’re saying that CP is the most hyped game of all time, but are you considering that BM might be the most hyped game of all time in light of the fact that the Chinese market is nearly 50% larger than the entire western hemisphere combined?

I mean you have a western FP RPG in one corner, and in the other you have a game based on quite possibly one of the most influential Chinese stories of all time and you don’t see why Asia might be more interested in buying and playing the latter?
Posted on 8/19/24 at 5:47 pm to Joshjrn
I get your point and definitely take it as something certainly valid and possible and didn’t even consider it in that context. To really know you’d have to have data about how much CP2077 was bought and “hyped” in China. So again unlike how I’m characterized at times I am admitting it’s not only possible you’re right about the point you’re making it might even be likely.
But as I ended my last post with, the optics of how hilarious it is is what really matters to me. One more step towards change I want to see

I never said I believed this. My original take was that BM would obviously be more popular in Asia, China specifically, but I wasn’t convinced it would be by such a large amount to overcome what was even if a Western game still the most hyped game of all time in the discussion about the steam preloads . I have since admitted this is likely not correct though

I’m not saying you believe that either. I’m saying you’re sounding ignorant as to the reason this has a lot of preorders by not factoring the Chinese audience in. I know you’ve walked it back at this point but my post was mostly in reference to your claim about this being a HP situation.
I’m not saying I know shite about frick all either though. Just maybe that’s why the sales have shot up. But hell I’m not even looking those stats up outside this thread

There is without a doubt a spike in people choosing to purchase this game simply to spite games journalist in the main stream deciding to plant their culture war flag on it for some reason. Which I still am confused as to why this game was chosen for it. How much is the spike? Idk it’s really impossible to account to for, and I did say in the very first post about it being LIKE HP that it’ll have no where near the same reverabating kind of ripple effect and have maintained that stance in multiple post since.
