I'm just looking to get some thoughts on the two. Best Buy's Gamer Club seems like a pretty good deal.

Here are some details on the two programs for those who aren't familiar:

I would rather buy digital, but I guess if you buy a lot of physical games then it makes sense. Especially if you are buying at $60, but I would read the fine print carefully.

The only reason I buy physical is for potential trade ins. When there are certain games I know I like, I will by digital. Digital can more substantially more expensive on catalog titles.

It can be more expensive, it just depends on your platform and buying habits. Since I mostly play on PC, you honestly can’t find most games physical... much less trade-in.

Buying on release day versus waiting for a steam (or other console) is a completely different world in terms of what you get from these programs.

I have the Best Buy one and I love it. They also usually give you more trade in credit off the bat than Gamestop does.

Best guy gamers club is an amazing deal, mix that with the 10 dollar credit you often get for pre ordering games and you’re paying less than 40 for new releases

Best Buy Club here. Games are cheaper right off the bat and you get a percentage more for trade-ins. If you use it 2 or 3 times it’s paid for itself.

I use BB's program all the time. Has always worked super well in combination with the reward certs you get for every 250 points. (I get 2.5x points with ElitePlus + GC stacking, so I get a $5 cert every $100 spent).

The only reason I considered Game Stop was for the Game Informer magazine.

Do you get 20% off of every new game you buy or is there a limit?

No limit, and stacks with all sale prices except for BF itself and manual price matches (i.e. they won't take 20% off when they match a sale price from Amazon).

This. I like to play video games but I tend to be pretty picky. When I lived in the states, I'd use the BB gamer club to buy a game for $40 and then sell for $50 if I didn't like it.

I wish Gamestop wouldn't have cancelled Power Pass.

Can anyone confirm if the $5 monthly in store vouchers from GS work on the $5 Nintendo estore cards? If so, the $14.99 annual membership is a no brainer

I'm pretty sure it works on anything in store, but I haven't been a member in a long time so I cannot answer you for certain. Just ask someone in-store.

I do the gstop. But I only buy physical really. And usually buy used. So it's cheaper and every month you get a $5 coupon. Plus once pts accumulate I usually use it for a $20 off or $35 off coupon.

I get a lot of free games this way. Like What I'm playing now Ghosts of tsushima. I paid zero for it.

I remember buying a pack of baseball cards and Wolfenstein 3D at the Circle K at Barringer Foreman and Old Jefferson. I pocketed a pack of Harley Davidson cigarettes when I was checking out.
